Job summary

Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS) is seeking an experienced Industrial Relations & Employee Relations leader in India. You will develop cordial IR with unions, interface with management and staff, and resolve grievances while ensuring compliance with labour laws and policies.

The role requires 5+ years in HR/IR, with experience before Labour Authorities, Courts, and tribunals. Aviation or logistics exposure is preferred. On-site role with focus on operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources and Industrial Relations.
  • Proven experience in handling employee relations, union interactions, collective bargaining, and labour law compliance.
  • Experience representing organizations before Labour Authorities, Labour Courts, Industrial Tribunals, and other statutory forums.
  • Exposure to disciplinary proceedings, domestic inquiries, and labour litigation management.
  • Experience in service industries, aviation, logistics, manufacturing, or similar labour-intensive sectors preferred.

INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS & EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
  • Develop and maintain cordial, harmonious, and constructive industrial relations within the organization.
  • Act as the primary interface between Management, employees, and recognized unions on matters concerning industrial relations.
  • Engage with Union Office Bearers and Committee Members on issues affecting employees and organizational operations.
  • Address employee grievances, concerns, and workplace issues through timely and effective resolution mechanisms.
  • Provide guidance and support to line managers on employee relations and industrial relations matters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, regulations, company policies, and standing orders.
LABOUR LITIGATION & STATUTORY REPRESENTATION
  • Draft and review replies to Statements of Claim, complaints, notices, and other submissions before labour authorities.
  • Represent the Company in conciliation proceedings before Labour Commissioners, Labour Officers, and other statutory authorities.
  • Handle labour and employment-related cases before Labour Courts, Industrial Tribunals, Industrial Relations Authorities, and other judicial forums.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel and labour law consultants on ongoing litigation and advisory matters.
  • Prepare case briefs, factual summaries, and supporting documentation for legal proceedings.
  • Attend hearings before various Courts, Tribunals, and quasi-judicial authorities as required.
DISCIPLINARY MANAGEMENT
  • Manage disciplinary proceedings in accordance with principles of natural justice and applicable laws.
  • Draft show-cause notices, charge sheets, suspension orders, warning letters, and other disciplinary documents.
  • Conduct or coordinate domestic inquiries and disciplinary investigations.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record maintenance of all disciplinary matters.
  • Provide recommendations to Management on disciplinary actions based on investigation findings and inquiry reports.
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT & REPORTING
  • Liaise and coordinate with government authorities, labour departments, legal advisors, and external agencies on employee and industrial relations matters.
  • Maintain accurate records of ongoing industrial disputes, legal cases, settlements, and disciplinary proceedings.
  • Prepare and submit periodic MIS reports and management updates on IR matters, labour litigation, conciliations, and employee relations issues.
  • Analyze industrial relations trends and recommend proactive measures to mitigate risks and enhance employee engagement.
OPERATIONAL, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure adherence to Company policies, labour laws, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Promote and uphold Quality, Safety, Security, and Operational Excellence standards across all areas of responsibility.
  • Support organizational initiatives aimed at employee welfare, workforce stability, and operational efficiency.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate with PG Diploma in Personnel Management and IR / Degree in Law / MSW/ Post Graduate degree in Business Management (PGDBM) with specialization in HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources and Industrial Relations functions.
  • Proven experience in handling employee relations, union interactions, collective bargaining, and labour law compliance.
  • Experience in representing organizations before Labour Authorities, Labour Courts, Industrial Tribunals, and other statutory forums.
  • Exposure to disciplinary proceedings, domestic inquiries, and labour litigation management.
  • Experience in service industries, aviation, logistics, manufacturing, or other labour-intensive sectors will be preferred.
