Job summary

DP World is seeking a Manager - Software Development to lead the design, implementation, and delivery of scalable software solutions across multiple locations. You will shape the technical direction, drive architecture decisions, and mentor a growing team within the Express Business, Operations division.

You will operate in a dynamic, startup-like environment, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of high-impact features and robust services while upholding DP World’s safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience to a bachelor's degree based on 3 years of work experience for every 1 year of education
• 6-9 years professional experience in software development; discuss design and significant contributions to projects
• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed system design, databases, and design patterns
• Strong coding skills with modern languages (NodeJS, GoLang, Scala, Java, etc)
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environment and DevOps automation
• Proficient with REST, JavaScript/Typescript, Node, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Angular, ReactJS, Vue, AWS, ML, geolocation and mapping APIs

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain software solutions for performance, durability, cost, and security
• Apply software engineering best practices to ensure high quality team deliverables
• Write high quality distributed system software
• Operate in an agile, startup-like development environment
• Lead a critical, high-visibility function within DP World International Expansion Business
• Deliver technical direction of the service and the feature roadmap autonomously
• Recruit and shape a team to best execute the product
• Manage and develop the team against aligned, measurable goals
• Act as an ambassador for DP World; uphold safety, and Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
• Perform other related duties as assigned
