Job summary

IFF is seeking a senior sensory scientist to lead global sensory evaluation for fragrance raw materials based in Sri City, India (onsite). You will drive quality standards, establish best practices, and act as SME in sensory science.

Join a multinational team with opportunities to shape fragrance development, regulatory alignment, and training. Strong communication, leadership, and project management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Technology or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in a Sensory Lab environment.
• Ability to differentiate odor and characteristics of materials.
• Ability to make sensory decisions through IQR process.
• Review and update global process and procedure documents.
• Proficient in SAP and MS Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent project management and leadership in a global setting.

• Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert in raw material sensory science.

Where You’ll Make a Difference

• Lead the global sensory evaluation program for fragrance raw materials.
• Responsible for ensuring consistent sensory quality standards, methodologies, and expertise across the organization.
• Serve as the organization's subject matter expert in raw material sensory science.
• Drive global sensory standards, quality strategies, and capability development to support raw material quality, supply continuity, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop global sensory capabilities and establish best practices for raw material assessment across the organization.
• Develop policies and guidelines for fragrance development.
• Maintain full awareness and complies with regulations associated with fragrance development.

What Makes You The Right Fit

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Technology or any other relevant discipline.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in a Sensory Lab environment.
• Ability to differentiate the odor and characteristics of materials used and sensory technical skill.
• Ability to make sensory decisions related to raw material elimination, replacement, and approval or rejection of new and alternative raw materials through the IQR process.
• Review and update global process and procedure documents.
• Proficient in SAP and MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent project management, people leadership skills, and presentation skills in a global environment, and understanding of cultural differences.

How Would You Stand Out?

• Experience in performing Sensory Analysis.
• Certification in People Leadership Program is preferred.
