Job summary

Mahindra Group's Nagpur plant is seeking a seasoned Fire Safety Officer to lead the fire prevention program, maintain equipment, and conduct training for plant and contract staff. The role requires 10–12 years of fire department experience, a BSc in Fire or BE in Fire Engineering, and NFSC certification.

You will coordinate with safety and security teams to ensure compliance and readiness. Regular drills, permit issuance, contingency planning, and incident response form the core of your daily

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of work experience in a fire department.
• BSc in Fire or BE in Fire Engineering.
• Diploma/Certificate in Fire & Safety.
• NFSC Sub Officer or Station Officer course completed.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and testing of fixed fire fighting systems and first aid equipment.
• Fire fighting trainings and live demonstrations for plant and contract employees.
• Prepare training modules for employees and contract staff.
• Prepare contingency plans for shop-level emergencies.
• Conduct monthly mock drills with safety department coordination.
• Issue hot work permits and ensure plant fire safety.
• Participate during onsite and offsite emergencies.
• Coordinate with security department.
• Coordinate with safety department.

Job description

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• 1) Conducting monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly maintenance and testing of fixed fire fighting installation and first aid fire fighting equipment's.
• 2) Conducting fire fighting trainings, live demonstration for plant employees & contract employees .
• 3) To prepare training module for employees and contract employees
• 4) To prepare contingency plan for shop wise emergency.
• 5) To conduct monthly mock drill with co-ordination to safety department and take active part
• 6) To issue Hot work permits and ensure the fire safety is maintained inside the plant premises
• 7) To take active part during onsite emergency and offsite emergency.
• 8) To co-ordinate with security department.
• 9) To co-ordinate with safety department.

Experience

10-12 years of work experience in Fire Department

Industry Preferred

Large size Manufacturing company

Qualifications

The applicant should be BSc-Fire / BE- Fire Engineering, Diploma/Certificate in Fire & Safety, should have completed sub officer or station officer course from NFSC.
