Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. is seeking a Fire Safety Officer in Nagpur district to oversee maintenance and testing of fire protection systems, deliver trainings, and coordinate emergency planning at an industrial plant.

4–6 years of relevant experience and NFSC-certified training are preferred, with a strong focus on safety practices and compliance. The role involves preparing training modules, conducting mock drills, issuing hot work permits, and supporting on-site and off-site emergency

Qualifications

• The applicant should hold BSc-Fire or BE-Fire Engineering.
• Diploma/Certificate in Fire & Safety required.
• Completion of Sub Officer or Station Officer course from NFSC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly maintenance and testing of fixed fire fighting installations and first aid firefighting equipment.
• Conduct fire fighting trainings and live demonstrations for plant and contract employees.
• Prepare training modules for employees and contract workers.
• Prepare contingency plans for shop-wise emergencies.
• Conduct monthly mock drills with coordination to safety dept.

Job description

Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:

• 1) Conducting monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly maintenance and testing of fixed fire fighting installation and first aid fire fighting equipment’s.
• 2) Conducting fire fighting trainings, live demonstration for plant employees & contract employees .
• 3) To prepare training module for employees and contract employees
• 4) To prepare contingency plan for shop wise emergency.
• 5) To conduct monthly mock drill with co-ordination to safety department and take active part
• 6) To issue Hot work permits and ensure the fire safety is maintained inside the plant premises
• 7) To take active part during onsite emergency and offsite emergency.
• 8) To co-ordinate with security department.
• 9) To co-ordinate with safety department.

Experience

4-6 years of experience in fire department. Should be well versed with fire fighting practices and equipment. Predictive, Preventive & Periodic checks of the fire safety equipments.

Industry Preferred

Automobile/Petroleum/Oil Refinery/Chemical / Pharmaceutical / Power Plants/ Steel & Cement industries or any heavy engineering based manufacturing industry

Qualifications

The applicant should be BSc-Fire / BE- Fire Engineering, Diploma/Certificate in Fire & Safety, should have completed sub officer or station officer course from NFSC.
