Job summary

EY GDS Assurance in India (Pune) seeks experienced professionals to lead delivery and quality across engagements. You will coordinate with global teams, manage resources and drive process improvements in a dynamic shared services environment.

Role requires CA or ACCA/CPA with substantial post-qualification experience, strong English communication, and leadership capabilities to develop high-performing teams and ensure adherence to EY standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main GDS point of contact for tasks assigned by global client-serving assurance teams
• Manage timeliness and quality of deliverables and day-to-day engagement operations
• Support a portfolio of engagements by leading Assistant Managers, Seniors and Associates
• Ensure timely, high-quality work in line with EY methodology and engagement-team expectations
• Support quality projects including pre-issuance reviews, assurance quality reviews and efficiency projects
• Develop and maintain relationships with assurance counterparts in the Americas and Europe
• Embed EY risk-management procedures into engagement-team work
• Transition new engagements and services to GDS Assurance while maintaining service quality
• Manage workflow, allocate resources, monitor performance, utilization and budget-to-actuals
• Identify opportunities to improve and standardize GDS Assurance processes and leverage best practices
• Develop high-performing teams through delegation, coaching, training and performance feedback
• Contribute to recruitment, diversity and inclusion, training and other organizational initiatives
• Use technology and tools to enhance service delivery and share knowledge

Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) with 5-6 years of post-qualification relevant experience
• Qualified ACCA / CPA with 7-8 years of post-qualification relevant experience
• Articleship with other top or mid-tier accounting firms
• Experience in a mid- or top-tier accounting firm focused on external or assurance reviews / matters, an MNC or larger Indian company preferably within a shared service environment, or Big 4 firms
• Expert knowledge of Indian accounting and assurance standards
• Knowledge of UK GAAP or US GAAP and international assurance standards is an added advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Effective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation and presentation skills
• Project management, leadership, coaching, counselling and supervisory skills
• Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues in India and global teams
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office is ideally desired
