ABOUT CENTRICITY WEALTHTECH
Centricity WealthTech is a fast-growing fintech startup reimagining wealth management and financial advisory services for the modern investor. With a mission to democratise quality financial planning, we operate at the intersection of technology and regulated financial services serving HNIs, family offices, and emerging-affluent segments.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a hands‑on Finance Controller to anchor our financial operations. You will own the complete accounting, reporting, and compliance framework — from day‑to‑day books to consolidated group financials and statutory obligations. This is a high‑ownership role that requires both technical rigour and the agility to operate in a fast‑paced startup environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Closure
- Lead monthly books closure — P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements with accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare standalone and consolidated financial statements in compliance with Ind AS / IGAAP.
- Drive quarterly and annual financial closures, including consolidation across group entities.
- Develop and maintain management reporting packs for leadership and the board.
Audit Management
- Serve as primary point of contact for statutory auditors; ensure clean, timely audit completion.
- Coordinate internal audits — scope definition, process walkthroughs, and closure of observations.
- Manage tax audits and transfer‑pricing documentation where applicable.
Regulatory & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with MCA filings, ROC returns, and Companies Act requirements.
- Manage SEBI compliance obligations relevant to the company's registered entity type (RIA / PMS / MF Distributor).
- Handle IRDA‑related compliances if applicable to business lines.
- Oversee GST, TDS, advance tax, and income‑tax filings and assessments.
Team & Process Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of 2–3 finance professionals; set goals, review work, and build capability.
- Establish and enforce robust internal controls, SOPs, and finance process documentation.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement using fintech tools and ERP systems.
- Partner with operations, product, and compliance teams on financial matters.
Treasury & Working Capital
- Monitor cash positions, fund flows, and working capital requirements.
- Manage banking relationships, vendor payments, and client settlement processes.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Mandatory
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI — first or second attempt preferred.
- 5–8 years of post‑qualification experience in accounting, reporting, and compliance.
- Proven startup experience: ability to operate independently, wear multiple hats, and build from scratch.
- Demonstrated experience with consolidated financial statements across multiple entities.
- Hands‑on experience with MCA / ROC, SEBI, and/or IRDA compliance frameworks.
Preferred / Added Advantage
- Prior experience in WealthTech, Fintech, NBFC, asset management, or financial advisory firms.
- Familiarity with SEBI‑regulated entities (RIA, PMS, AMC) and their specific reporting obligations.
- Experience with ERP or accounting platforms such as Zoho Books, Tally Prime, or SAP B1.
- Exposure to fundraising support — financial data rooms, investor reporting, or due diligence.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Deep command of Ind AS, IGAAP, and applicable tax laws.
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to accuracy and detail.
- Excellent communication skills to present financials clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- High ownership mindset with a problem‑solving, process‑improvement orientation.
- Integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information.
WHAT WE OFFER
- A high‑impact role with direct visibility to founders and senior leadership.
- Competitive compensation benchmarked to startup‑stage finance roles.
- Opportunity to build and shape the finance function of a growing WealthTech firm.
- Fast‑paced, collaborative, and intellectually stimulating work environment.
- Learning exposure across regulatory domains — MCA, SEBI, IRDA, and tax.
