Job summary

Capita is seeking a Finance Business Partner for the Technology Office to provide financial insight, challenge and decision support to operational, product, technology and leadership teams.

You will lead management accounting activities including month-end close, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations, and prepare monthly packs with commentary on movements, risks and opportunities while supporting budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles across key cost drivers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Act as a Finance Business Partner for the Technology Office, working closely with operational, product, technology and leadership teams to provide financial insight, challenge and decision support.
• Lead management accounting activities, including month-end close, journals, accruals, prepayments, allocations, reconciliations and review of P&L results to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly reporting packs, variance analysis and commentary for senior finance and business stakeholders, clearly explaining key movements, risks, opportunities and financial performance trends.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles by consolidating inputs, validating assumptions, reviewing run-rate impacts and ensuring financial plans align with operational priorities.
• Partner with stakeholders to manage headcount, contractor, cloud, technology, project and other key cost drivers, providing clear visibility of actual spend, commitments and future financial implications.
• Maintain financial controls and governance across management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, cost reporting and audit evidence, ensuring compliance with Group finance policies and accounting standards.
• Provide commercial finance support for business cases, transformation initiatives and strategic vendor or technology service arrangements, highlighting financial risks, benefits and value drivers.
• Develop and improve management information, dashboards and finance processes using tools such as Excel, Power BI, SAP and Copilot to enhance visibility, accuracy and efficiency.

Essential:

• Strong understanding of accounting, management reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and financial controls.
• Ability to prepare clear reports, analysis and commentary for finance teams and senior business stakeholders.
• Good analytical skills with the ability to explain key movements, highlight risks or opportunities and support business decisions.
• Comfortable working with Technology Office stakeholders and supporting budgeting, forecasting and cost reviews.
• Ability to manage reporting, month-end, forecasting and audit timelines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office applications, including formulas, lookups and basic financial models.

Desirable:

• Experience in finance business partnering, management accounting or management reporting roles.
• Experience supporting technology, transformation or central function teams.
• Experience using SAP, Power BI or similar reporting tools, including process or dashboard improvements.
