Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd is seeking a Site Digital Initiatives Manager in Mumbai to drive global and local digital transformation at manufacturing sites, implementing eLogbooks, OEE monitoring, IIoT platforms, and capacity planning to improve efficiency and compliance.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, manage budgets, ensure GMP/CSV compliance, and align with corporate standards, with travel to multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in IT/CS/Production/Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
• Master’s degree (MBA, M.Tech, M.Pharm) with PM/Operations focus preferred.
• PMP certification and GAMP5/CSV training preferred.
• Total 7+ years in manufacturing (pharma preferred) with 3+ years in digital transformation or automation roles.
• Experience leading cross-functional digital projects.

Responsibilities

• Digitisation of Shop Floor Processes including eLogbooks, capacity planning, OEE monitoring, and related tools.
• Project Management: lead cross‑functional teams, manage timelines, budgets, risks, and deliver business value.
• Compliance & Validation: ensure GxP, data integrity, and audit readiness.
• Technology Integration: work with IT and engineering to integrate tools with MES, SCADA, and ERP.
• Change Management: drive user adoption, train end‑users, and embed digital practices into daily operations.

Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including hands‑on expertise in a Digital transformation project at manufacturing sites. The Site Digital Initiatives Manager is responsible for executing global and local digital transformation projects at the manufacturing site. This role focuses on implementing digital tools such as eLogbooks, IIOT platforms, OEE monitoring, capacity planning and many other digital initiatives at the manufacturing site to enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and productivity. The role is responsible for implementing the digital strategy across sites, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Digitisation of Shop Floor Processes: Implementing systems such as electronic logbooks (eLogbooks), capacity planning tool, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) monitoring, Utility Logbooks, and Capacity Planning tools.
• Project Management: Leading cross‑functional project teams, managing timelines, budgets, risks, and ensuring delivery of business value.
• Compliance & Validation: Ensuring all digital systems comply with GxP guidelines, data integrity standards, and are audit‑ready.
• Technology Integration: Working with IT and engineering teams to integrate new digital tools with existing systems like MES, SCADA, and ERP.
• Change Management: Promoting user adoption, training end‑users, and embedding digital practices into daily operations. Driving adoption and digital culture at the site.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Information Technology, Computer Science, Production, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related technical field.
• Preferred: Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, M.Tech, M.Pharm) with specialisation in Project Management, Operations Management, Industrial Automation, or Pharmaceutical Technology.

Specific Certification

• PMP – for structured project execution (Preferred)
• GAMP5 or CSV Training – for compliance in regulated environments

Experience

• Total: 7+ years in manufacturing (preferably pharma).
• Relevant: 3+ years in digital transformation or automation roles.
• Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional digital projects.

Skill (Functional & Behavioural)

• Strong project management expertise in IT/digital systems.
• Familiarity with GxP, CSV, and validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and shop floor operations.
