Job summary

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd is seeking a Site Digital Initiatives Manager with 10+ years in the pharmaceutical industry and hands-on experience in digital transformation at manufacturing sites. The role centers on executing global and local digital projects like eLogbooks, OEE monitoring, and capacity planning to boost efficiency, compliance, and productivity across sites.

You will lead cross-functional teams, ensure regulatory alignment, and drive adoption of MES/SCADA/ERP integrations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in IT/CS/Production/Pharmaceuticals or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred (PM/Operations/Industrial Automation).
• PMP certification is preferred for structured project execution.
• GAMP5 or CSV training for compliance in regulated environments.
• Total experience: 7+ years in manufacturing (pharma preferred).
• 3+ years in digital transformation or automation roles.

Responsibilities

• Digitisation of shop floor processes: eLogbooks, capacity planning, OEE monitoring, utility logbooks, capacity tools.
• Project management: lead cross-functional teams, manage timelines, budgets, risks, deliver business value.
• Compliance & validation: ensure GxP compliance, data integrity, audit readiness.
• Technology integration: collaborate with IT/engineering to integrate MES/SCADA/ERP.
• Change management: drive user adoption, train end-users, embed digital practices site-wide.

Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including hands‑on expertise in a Digital transformation project at manufacturing sites

The Site Digital Initiatives Manager is responsible for executing global and local digital transformation projects at the manufacturing site. This role focuses on implementing digital tools such as eLogbooks, IIOT platforms, OEE monitoring, capacity planning and many other digital initiatives at the manufacturing site to enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and productivity. The role is responsible for implementing the digital strategy across sites, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibility:

Digitisation of Shop Floor Processes: Implementing systems such as electronic logbooks (eLogbooks), capacity planning tool, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) monitoring, Utility Logbooks, and Capacity Planning tools.

Project Management: Leading cross-functional project teams, managing timelines, budgets, risks, and ensuring delivery of business value.

Compliance & Validation: Ensuring all digital systems comply with GxP guidelines, data integrity standards, and are audit-ready.

Technology Integration: Working with IT and engineering teams to integrate new digital tools with existing systems like MES, SCADA, and ERP.

Change Management: Promoting user adoption, training end-users, and embedding digital practices into daily operations.Driving adoption and digital culture at the site.

Mumbai and travel to multiple sites

Financial Accountability (cost/revenue with exclusive authority)

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Information Technology, Computer Science, Production, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related technical field.

Preferred: Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, M.Tech, M.Pharm) with specialisation in Project Management, Operations Management, Industrial Automation, or Pharmaceutical Technology.

Specific Certification

PMP – for structured project execution (Preferred)

GAMP5 or CSV Training – for compliance in regulated environments

Experience

Total: 7+ years in manufacturing (preferably pharma).

Relevant: 3+ years in digital transformation or automation roles.

Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional digital projects.

Skill (Functional & Behavioural):

Functional: Strong project management expertise in IT/digital systems, Familiarity with GxP, CSV, and validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and shop floor operations, Proficiency in stakeholder coordination and cross‑functional collaboration, Budget and vendor management, Data‑driven decision‑making. Hands on experience in IIOT platforms(Thing Worx, Mind Sphere/ Mandix)
