Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager with 8–10 years of expertise in LED lighting design and product development. As part of a growing small-to-medium enterprise (SME), you will lead the design function, drive product innovation, and oversee the development of high-quality LED lighting solutions that meet technical, regulatory, and market requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, deep technical knowledge of LED lighting systems, and a proven track record of successfully managing product development projects from concept to commercialization.

Key Roles & Responsibilites

• Lead the design and development of innovative LED lighting products from concept through commercialization.
• Manage and mentor a team of design engineers and product designers, fostering technical excellence and innovation.
• Drive product design strategies aligned with business objectives, market trends, and customer requirements.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, Production, Quality, Procurement, and Marketing teams to ensure seamless product development and successful product launches.
• Oversee product design, prototyping, testing, validation, and design optimization activities.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, technical documentation, specifications, and design changes.
• Conduct design reviews and risk assessments to improve product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure on-time delivery of development projects.
• Drive cost optimization, value engineering, and sustainability initiatives without compromising product quality and performance.
• Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends, materials, and design methodologies to maintain product competitiveness.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of design-related issues during production and field performance.
• Coordinate with suppliers and external partners for component selection, testing, and product development activities.
• Establish and maintain design standards, best practices, and continuous improvement processes.
• Prepare and present project updates, technical reports, and product development roadmaps to management.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
• Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• 8–10 years of experience in LED lighting design, product development, or engineering.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience leading design teams or managing product development projects.
• Proven experience in LED luminaires, drivers, optics, thermal management, and lighting system design.
• Experience with product development lifecycle management, prototyping, testing, and commercialization.
