Job summary

RR Kabel is seeking an experienced CAD design engineer in Bengaluru to design parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for LED lighting products. You will generate manufacturing drawings and BOMs, support diecast and extrusion components, and develop jigs for production.

The role requires 5–10 years in engineering with strong LED/optics knowledge and sheet metal experience; proficiency in Solid Edge or similar CAD software is essential, with willingness to travel to vendor sites.

Qualifications

• CAD proficiency with Solid Edge 2020 or newer, or equivalent CAD software.
• 5–10 years of experience in the field.
• LED lighting industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of LED and optics terminologies.
• Engineering background with sheet metal knowledge and processes.
• Experience in diecast and aluminium extrusion design and development.
• Experience with plastic injection molding processes.
• CAD design of parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies; generate drawings and BOMs.
• Ability to develop jigs and fixtures for production lines.
• Familiarity with quality systems: QMS, ISO 9000, Six Sigma.
• Willing to travel to vendor locations for development.

Responsibilities

• Develop jigs and fixtures for production lines.
• Possess good knowledge of sheet metal products and processes.
• Design and development of diecast and aluminium extrusion components.
• Experience with plastic injection molded products and processes.
• Proficient in Solid Edge or other CAD software; learn Solid Edge quickly as needed.
• Ensure quality systems compliance (QMS, ISO 9000, Six Sigma).
• Travel to vendor locations to support product development.

• Should preferably be from LED lighting industry. 5 to 10 yrs of experience.

• Should have experience in design and development of diecast and aluminium extrusion components.
• Should have good experience in Plastic injection molded products and process.

• Should have good knowledge on developing jigs and fixtures for production lines.

• Should be able to travel to vendor locations to develop products.
