Job summary

3S Business Advisors is seeking a seasoned professional with experience in coal beneficiation and mineral processing to lead process design and equipment sizing for EPC projects. You will develop flowsheets, PFDs/P&IDs and mass balances, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver design packages.

The role emphasizes hands-on plant design for coal washing facilities, and collaboration with EPC contractors and vendors to ensure technically sound deliverables.

Qualifications

• Coal Beneficiation / Coal Washery / Mineral Processing experience.
• Strong exposure to process design, flowsheets, PFDs/P&IDs, mass balance and equipment sizing.
• EPC, engineering consultancy, plant design or project engineering experience preferred.
• Hands-on exposure to coal washing and beneficiation plant design is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review coal beneficiation/washery process flowsheets and mass balance.
• Select, size and evaluate beneficiation equipment; work with jigs, cyclones, screens and flotation.
• Handle plant design for greenfield/brownfield coal projects; coordinate with mechanical/electrical/instrumentation and civil teams.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants and equipment vendors; review technical documents and vendor drawings.
• Identify process improvements, debottlenecking and capacity enhancements; support troubleshooting.
• Lead process engineering activities and guide technical discussions with teams and stakeholders.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Coal Beneficiation Process Design

• Develop and review coal beneficiation/washery process flowsheets.
• Prepare/review PFDs, P&IDs, mass balance and process calculations.

2. Process & Equipment Engineering

• Select, size and technically evaluate coal beneficiation equipment.
• Work with DMC, jigs, hydrocyclones, screens, crushers, flotation and dewatering systems.

3. Plant Design & Engineering

• Handle process engineering for greenfield/brownfield coal beneficiation projects.
• Support plant layout and coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Civil teams.

4. EPC & Project Coordination

• Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants and equipment vendors.
• Review technical documents, vendor drawings and engineering deliverables.

5. Process Optimisation

• Identify process improvement, debottlenecking and capacity enhancement opportunities.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting and process optimisation.

6. Technical Leadership

• Lead and review process engineering activities for coal beneficiation projects.
• Guide technical discussions with internal teams, consultants and external stakeholders.

Candidate Profile:

• Relevant experience in Coal Beneficiation / Coal Washery / Mineral Processing.
• Strong exposure to process design, flowsheets, PFD/P&IDs, mass balance and equipment selection/sizing.
• Experience in EPC, engineering consultancy, plant design or project engineering preferred.
• Hands-on exposure to coal washing and beneficiation plant design will be an advantage.
