Job summary

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals in India seeks a senior corporate strategist to formulate and drive the company-wide strategy across geographies and functions. You will analyze internal data and market trends to inform high-level initiatives, including portfolio analysis and new product opportunities.

You will develop long-range plans, manage budgets and models, and support due-diligence for acquisitions and licensing opportunities. MBA required with pharma industry expertise.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in corporate strategy, business development, or management consulting within pharma.
• In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including market trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape.
• Knowledge of drug development pathways and US market regulations.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Job description

The role holder will be responsible to formulate and drive the implementation of the overall business strategy at the Corporate level through detailed, fact-based analysis of internal data and external market trends. The incumbent will execute high level strategic initiatives across geographies, portfolio analysis, analysis of specialty/innovative pipeline, evaluation of new product ideas/in-licensing ideas, undertake M&A evaluations and market entry assessment exercises, develop long range business plans, undertake analysis of operational and financial data to identify opportunities for improving the organization’s top and bottom line.

Develop detailed long range plan & organization wide framework to assist strategic decision making across key businesses & functions including the global markets, Operations, Supply Chain and R&D

Provide domain expertise to both internal and external stakeholders and further enhance Glenmark’s innovation and specialty pipeline

Undertake scenario analysis to define the most optimal plan for the firm and regularly update the model based on progress of key projects and market trends

Evaluate and drive various acquisition and divestment opportunities from strategic and financial perspective, monitor and report on key performance indicators to ensure the organization’s diversification strategy

Support business development efforts by supporting due-diligence activities for potential in/out-licensing opportunities

Evaluate ongoing market trends and perform thorough research to identify key changes required in business plans & priorities for market expansion and new market entry opportunities

Develop and manage budgets, forecasts and financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Professional Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in corporate strategy, business development, or management consulting, with a focus on the pharmaceutical industry

In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including market trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape

Knowledge of drug development pathways, new chemical/biological entities, US market regulations

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse complex data and develop actionable insights

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

Education Qualification:

MBA from top-tier B-school

Knowledge and Skills (Functional / Technical):

Relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical/Consulting/Life Sciences industry

Strong analytical capability

Self-starter and ability to work independently as well as with a team

Good communication & interpersonal skills
