JOB PURPOSE

The role in Communications department will work to drive integrated communications across product, corporate, executive, and internal functions to enhance brand reputation and support business objectives. The role demands an experienced automotive communications professional with strong writing skills, media relations expertise, executive presence, and cross-functional collaboration ability.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Product Communications – Communication planning and execution for vehicle launches, product updates, technology stories and brand campaigns.
  • Corporate Communications – Corporate storytelling, reputation management, thought leadership and strategic media engagement.
  • Executive Communications – Develop leadership messaging, speeches, talking points, presentations, interviews and executive visibility programs.
  • Internal Communications – Support employee engagement initiatives, leadership communication and organizational announcements.
  • Media Relations – Build and maintain strong relationships with automotive, business and mainstream media.
  • Agency Management – Manage communication agencies and ensure strategic, proactive and high-quality delivery.
  • Issues & Crisis Communications – Support preparedness, stakeholder management and rapid response requirements.
  • Industry Intelligence – Track automotive trends, competitor activity and emerging issues to provide actionable communication recommendations.
  • Cross-functional Alignment – Partner with Sales, Marketing, After Sales, Product Planning, HR, Legal, Manufacturing and Leadership teams.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Post Graduate degree in Journalism, Public Relations, MBA or Communications or any related field with 8-12 years of relevant experience.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Minimum 8-12 years of experience in a communications role, preferably in product communications for a major global automotive or auto components company or agency experience managing an auto brand and extensive experience in managing product comms. Experience should include extensive media relations experience with an emphasis on brand, corporate and product communications and a strong and acknowledged track record of results. Experience in other areas of the marketing mix e.g. above the line advertising, brand management and especially digital engagement a major plus. Excellent written and verbal English communications skills; must be able to write under pressure. Ability to synthesize complex information; understand the needs and interests of target audiences; define and articulate messages; generate effective and compelling content for a variety of vehicles (news releases, articles, Q&A documents); create and edit copy; develop and deliver effective presentations. Significant experience in formulating and managing communications strategies/plans within a complex organization. Success in building good relations with key media and securing media coverage
