Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or related field.
• 6–10+ years of relevant electrical design experience for Manager/AM role.
• Hands-on product development and electrical design experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, EPLAN, E3 or equivalent tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety, and design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver design of electrical subsystems for elevator applications.

Job Title: Manager / Assistant Manager Electrical Design

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design professional to lead and deliver the design and development of electrical components and subsystems for elevator applications. The role involves electrical system design, component selection, product development, troubleshooting, cost optimization, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety, quality, and design standards.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in industrial electrical components/switchgear, hands‑on expertise in electrical design tools, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust, cost‑effective, and high‑quality electrical designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and integrate electrical subsystems for elevator applications, considering control system requirements, motor and VF drive interfaces, electrical codes, and application requirements.
• Develop concepts and detailed designs for electrical components and subsystems and establish/review design requirements.
• Design electrical wiring and wire harnesses and manage interfaces between various elevator components through electrification and signaling.
• Select and size key electrical components such as relays, safety sensors, circuit breakers, switches, transformers, and protection systems for control and power circuits.
• Prepare and maintain Bills of Material (BOM) for elevator control systems across various ratings and configurations.
• Deliver electrical component and subsystem designs in line with organizational standards for safety, quality, reliability, and performance.
• Ensure timely delivery of electrical designs while meeting defined technical requirements and cost targets.
• Provide timely technical troubleshooting and support for electrical system and component‑related issues.
• Identify and implement opportunities for design improvement, cost reduction, standardization, and product optimization.
• Develop and evaluate alternative design solutions to improve product performance and reduce overall product cost.
• Drive improvement in design quality by reducing design errors, design‑related issues, and field escapes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and other stakeholders for successful product development and implementation.
• Support product development activities from concept through design validation and release.
• Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, and internal engineering standards.
• Contribute innovative ideas and engineering solutions for improving electrical subsystem design, reliability, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• 6–10+ years of relevant experience in electrical design engineering, with experience level aligned to the Manager/Assistant Manager position.
• Strong experience in product development and electrical design.
• Hands‑on experience with industrial electrical components and switchgear.
• Proficiency in electrical design tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, E3, or equivalent tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, wiring, protection systems, and control circuits.
• Experience in component selection, sizing, electrical schematic development, and subsystem integration.
• Good understanding of electrical codes, safety requirements, and design standards.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional and global teams.

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years of experience in the elevator industry will be an added advantage.
• Experience with elevator electrical control systems, motor/VF drive interfaces, signaling, and elevator electrical subsystems.
• Experience in cost optimization, design standardization, and design quality improvement.
