Job summary

Sapient is seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer/Project Manager to own sub-domain program delivery roadmaps and drive release planning across complex domains. The role requires coordinating agile teams, managing dependencies, and ensuring backlog hygiene in Rally to deliver business outcomes.

You will engage with senior stakeholders and external vendors to ensure on-time delivery, coach teams on process improvements, and navigate a large, complex organization to achieve strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of Sub-Domain Program use case delivery roadmaps.
• Drive release planning and rolling out software releases into production across Domains, managing dependencies.
• Manage progressive elaboration/release planning of business outcomes to epics and features.
• Delivery and integration planning of new solutions across Sub-Domains.
• Ensure capacity plans are up to date in Rally and maintain backlog hygiene and business outcomes financials.
• Vendor management where applicable.
• Facilitate execution across diverse Agile teams to align strategy and execution.
• Keep stakeholders informed of progress against release commitments.
• Provide coaching to resolve process issues across the release train.
• Facilitate release execution and planning events, including breaking down large work into epics/features with scrum masters.
• Manage dependencies across squads and remove roadblocks with product owners and stakeholders.
• Escalation point for issues, risks and impediments.
• Practical RTE/Delivery experience in last ~2-3 years.
• Problem solving in a complex environment.

Key Accountabilities

• Ownership of Sub-Domain Program use case delivery roadmaps
• Be the driving force behind release planning and rolling out Software Releases (epics and features) into production, including managing cross-Domains dependencies.
• Be responsible to manage progressive elaboration/Release Planning of business outcomes to epics and features: the right amount of planning and design to enable focused delivery
• Delivery and integration planning of new solutions across Sub-Domains
• Ensure capacity plans are up to date in Rally, maintain the hygiene around the backlogs and manage the Business Outcome financials
• Vendor management (where applicable)
• Facilitate execution across diverse set of Agile development teams to ensure strategy and execution alignment
• Keep key stakeholders informed of overall progress against the release commitments
• Provide coaching to help resolve process issues across the release train
• Facilitate release execution and planning events, including but not limited to progressive elaboration of breaking down large units of work into epics and features in collaboration of scrum masters and their squads.
• Manage dependencies across squads and remove roadblocks to drive outcomes with product owners and business stakeholders.
• Escalation point for dealing with issues, risks and removing bottlenecks/impediments
• Practical RTE/Delivery experience in last ~2-3 years
• Problem solving attitude with ability to navigate in a complex environment

Experience

• Experience across Agile and adaptive delivery models and mindsets
• Track record of strong experience operating effectively and delivering consistent results in a large complex business
