Job summary

The Corporate Institute in Mumbai seeks a senior Finance Controller to oversee accounting, consolidation, and regulatory reporting across multiple entities. You will drive closing cycles, ensure accuracy of standalone and consolidated statements under Ind AS/IFRS, and coordinate audits with external auditors.

You will implement internal controls, oversee GST and direct tax compliance, and partner with management on MIS, variance analysis, and policy governance to enhance financial discipline

Qualifications

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Finance Finalization:

• Review journal entries and accounting records; ensure ledger accuracy in Tally.


• Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual book closures across entities.


• Ensure books are reconciled, compliant, and audit-ready.


• Prepare standalone and consolidated financial statements under Ind AS / IFRS for overseas subsidiaries.


• Strengthen book closure processes, SOP adherence, and documentation standards.

2. Group Financial Reporting & Consolidation:

• Own and drive group-level consolidation across multiple subsidiaries.


• Manage intercompany eliminations, reconciliations, and accounting policy alignment.


• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of consolidated reporting.


• Support management reporting, MIS, and variance analysis.

3. Audit & Compliance Management:

• Lead internal and statutory audits, including Big4 audits.


• Act as the primary liaison with auditors, regulators, and external consultants (CA/CS).


• Ensure timely submission of audit data, schedules, and reconciliations.


• Drive audit query resolution with minimal observations.


• Coordinate audits across holding and subsidiary entities.

4. Internal Controls (IFC) & Process Governance:

• Lead execution of the IFC framework across finance and business functions.


• Ensure controls are embedded in day-to-day processes.


• Monitor control effectiveness and drive remediation of gaps.


• Develop and enforce financial policies, SOPs, and control mechanisms.


• Strengthen audit readiness, compliance culture, and risk mitigation practices.

5. GST & Direct Tax:

• Prepare and file GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-6, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C.


• Reconcile GSTR-2B with the purchase register and resolve discrepancies.


• Manage TDS compliance, including Forms 24Q / 26Q and Forms 16 / 16A through Winman.

6. Regulatory Compliance, Statutory Finance Operations & Process Excellence:

• Manage tax and regulatory filings, including Form 15CA/CB, Form 61A, FLA returns, advance tax, GST, TDS, and labour law compliance (PF, PT, ESIC, MLWF).


• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, vendor reconciliations, invoicing, collections, banking operations, fund flow, and liquidity management.


• Maintain financial reconciliations, tax registers, schedules, and MIS reports using advanced Excel.


• Drive process standardization, automation, ERP/Tally operations, internal controls, and operational efficiency while ensuring timely filings, regulatory adherence, and reporting accuracy across entities and jurisdictions.
