Job summary

G R Infraprojects invites applications for a Project In-charge – P&E sub-function, overseeing operations at project sites. You will drive optimal use of people, materials and machines to ensure safety, quality and on-time execution of the road works.

You will plan and monitor maintenance, manage stakeholder reporting to senior management, and mentor a team to deliver across 10–30 km project scope while maintaining proper documentation and compliance.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical with 7-13 years experience.
• BE/B.Tech with 5-11 years experience.
• M.Tech with 4-10 years experience; road construction projects spanning 10-30 km.

Responsibilities

• P&E Planning & Performance: create detailed site work plans, estimate resources, manage staff, monitor machine performance.
• P&E Operations: monitor maintenance, ensure safety/environmental procedures, review daily progress, deploy machinery on time.
• Stakeholder Management & Reporting: provide updates to project leadership, secure inputs, document information, escalate issues as needed.
• People Management: develop direct reports and handle grievances to ensure smooth delivery.

Job description

Role Purpose

• The incumbent of this role is accountable for the entire operational aspects of the assigned P&E sub-function, as well as at the project sites.
• The purpose of this role is to act as a Project in-charge and drive the optimisation of resources to ensure smooth execution of all the activities with best quality, safety and the timelines set for the project site.
• They have to ensure efficient utilisation of people, material and machinery as well as adherence to the set standards of GRIL, while facilitating the project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• P&E Planning & Performance - Create a detailed work plan for the team at the project site identifying the sequence of activities needed to successfully complete the specific activities of the P&E sub-function at the project site. Estimate resource requirements (human, financial, equipment etc..) and their allocation to the identified activities. Manage staff according to the established policies and procedures. Drive the performance of machines above certain set standards by raising timely red flags.

• P&E Operations - Monitor progress of the preventive and scheduled maintenance of equipments and identify any deviations from schedule. Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental and managerial procedures. Review the daily schedule with the project team through daily progress reports. Ensure on-time deployment of right machinery at the project site. Drive minimum dead stock at the project site and an optimum stock of spares as per the schedule.

• Stakeholder Management & Reporting - Provide regular updates to CO of the project progress and request support for resolving major issues creating hindrance in project execution. Facilitate necessary inputs to the team members to ensure smooth execution. Resolve any issues related to the specific system or machinery and ensure accurate and timely reporting and escalation, if required.Ensure all project -site information is properly documented and secured. Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders, including Senior Management, on the progress of the project.

• People Management - Facilitate development of direct reportees to ensure smooth delivery of the project and handle employee grievances in an appropriate Manner

Indicative Experience and Exposure

• Diploma in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical with 7-13 years experience

or

• BE/B.Tech with 5-11 years experience

or

• M.Tech with 4-10 years experience
• Experience in handling work with scope across 10-30 km in a road construction project
