Job summary

Basilllia Organics is seeking a Maintenance Technician to manage preventive and breakdown maintenance on processing lines, utilities, and calibration to meet organic standards. The role involves forklift operation, shift-based work, and supervising a small team in a factory-floor setting.

You will coordinate with the Production Supervisor to minimize downtime and ensure timely production, with overtime during peak periods.Experience in Agri/food processing and a mechanical background are

• ITI/Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or related field.
• 1-2 years experience in Agri/ Food Processing industry.
• Experience in handling production lines, machinery maintenance and manpower.
• Strong people management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in rotational shifts.

Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance: Execute daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance calendar for grinders, mixers, sorters, and packaging machines.
• Breakdown Repair: Act as first responder for mechanical or electrical failures on the production line to minimize downtime.
• Oversee plant utilities including air compressors, water systems, and electrical panels.
• Calibration: Ensure sensors and weighing scales are calibrated to meet organic certification standards.
• Drive and operate lift vehicles (Forklifts, Reach Trucks, or Stackers) to move machinery parts, pallets, or heavy equipment.
• Assist in loading/unloading and positioning of heavy equipment during installation or floor reorganization.
• Ensure lift vehicle safety and adherence to shop-floor protocols.
• Supervise a small team of technicians and helpers during shifts.
• Coordinate machine stoppage time with Production Supervisor to avoid delivery delays.
• Maintain stock of critical spare parts and lubricants (food-grade).

Role & responsibilities

• Breakdown Repair: Act as the first responder for any mechanical or electrical failures on the production line to minimize "downtime."
• Utility Management: Oversee the smooth functioning of plant utilities including air compressors, water systems, and electrical panels.
• Calibration: Ensure all sensors and weighing scales are calibrated to meet organic certification standards.
• Equipment Handling: Safely drive and operate lift vehicles (Forklifts, Reach Trucks, or Stackers) to move machinery parts, pallets, or heavy equipment across the floor.
• Loading/Unloading: Assist in the safe positioning of heavy equipment during installation or floor reorganization.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure the lift vehicle is maintained and operated according to shop-floor safety protocols.
• Manpower Management: Supervise a small team of technicians and helpers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently during your shift.
• 4M Coordination: Work closely with the Production Supervisor to coordinate machine "stoppage time" for maintenance without affecting delivery schedules.
• Inventory Control: Maintain a stock of critical spare parts and lubricants (food-grade).

Ideal Candidate Profile

• ITI / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or related field
• 1-2 years experience in Agri/ Food Processing industry
• Experience in handling production lines, machinery maintenance and manpower.
• Strong people management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in rotational shifts

Work Environment

• Factory-floor based.
• Shift-based working hours; may require overtime during peak production or breakdowns.
