Job summary

SSD Oil Mills Company Limited in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu is seeking a skilled maintenance technician for preventive and breakdown maintenance of heavy plant machinery such as oil expellers, crushers, conveyors, and boilers.

You will diagnose, overhaul, align, and replace components, read basic drawings for fabrication and gas cutting, and ensure strict safety and hygiene in a food-grade oil facility.

Responsibilities

• Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance and quick breakdown repairs on heavy plant machinery including oil expellers, seed crushers, conveyors, blenders, and high-pressure steam boilers.
• Pump & Valve Overhauling: Diagnose, dismantle, overhaul, and reassemble critical fluid-handling machinery such as centrifugal pumps, gear pumps, rotary valves, and pipelines to ensure zero oil leakage.
• Precision Machinery Alignment: Carry out precise leveling, alignment, and balancing of mechanical components like shafts, couplings, gears, pulleys, and v-belts to eliminate vibrations and premature wear.
• Equipment Overhauling: Replace defective parts including bearings, oil seals, gaskets, bushings, and chains to restore equipment to optimal production standards.
• Fabrication & Gas Cutting: Read basic mechanical drawings to perform structural fabrication, gas cutting, and basic arc welding for pipeline modifications or equipment framing adjustments.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to industrial safety protocols, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and hygiene standards required in a food-grade oil manufacturing facility.
