Job summary

ZEISS in Devanahalli, India, is hiring an experienced Maintenance Engineer (HVAC) to manage operation and maintenance of utility equipment.

The role covers large centralized HVAC systems, chillers, AHUs, cooling towers, BMS/SCADA, and safety compliance with ISO/OHSAS standards. Six-day work week; diploma/BE in mechanical required; 8–10 years in process manufacturing.

You will coordinate with multiple contractors, read drawings, and optimize heating/cooling needs and budgets.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in mechanical engineering is required.
• 8–10 years of experience in process-intensive manufacturing.
• Experience in MEP installations and managing multiple contractors.
• Knowledge of centralized HVAC systems, chillers, AHUs, cooling towers.
• Familiarity with ISO and OHSAS audits and safety compliance.
• Proficient reading of drawings and refrigeration circuits.
• Understanding of BMS/SCADA and clean room requirements.
• Ability to estimate budget costs and manage spares.

Immediate Hiring for Maintenance Engineer (HVAC) - Devanahalli location.

Working days - 6 days.

Qualification - Diploma in Mechanical / BE in Mechanical engineering

Job purpose :

Responsible for Operation and Maintenance of Utility Equipments to deliver the desired output for customers.

Main Accountabilities :

• Work experience in similar MEP installations in manufacturing construction projects and leading the MEP works.
• Through knowledge of Installation and Commissioning of Utilities and Utility set up like Large Centralized HVAC systems, Screw Chillers, Air handling Units, Humidity Chambers, De humidifiers Etc.
• Thorough knowledge of dismantling, Assemble of Large Compressors.
• Thorough knowledge of Maintenance of Chilled water pumps, AHUs, HVAC system, Cooling Towers, Brine chillers etc.
• Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating and Thorough knowledge of BMS system.
• Able to read and draw refrigeration circuits and for trouble shooting.
• Able to read the drawings & engineering specifications and tolerances.
• Calculate Heating and Cooling Needs, Interpret and Draft Plans.
• Calculate Ventilation Requirements and Determine Budget Costs.
• Should be able to take measurements, calculate and establish the quantities and associated costs for contractor bills.
• Well versed with Environment, Health and Safety standards.
• Having exposure with ISO & OHSAS standards and faced the internal and external audits.
• Having experience of working with multiple contractors at site.
• Knowledge of PHE works piping specifications etc.
• Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
• Exposure in handling government agencies, local authorities / Agencies.
• Exposure to create change management / Scope management / non-tendered items.
• Should possess high level of problem-solving techniques using simple but effective quality tools.
• Knowledge of clean rooms and its requirements in terms of ISO standards, Temp & Rh, air changes, Fresh air system, air balancing, filtration systems and so on.
• Knowledge of cold rooms of both positive temperatures and negative temperatures. Logics of operating HVAC system for these cold rooms, fire suppression system, spill management system.
• Knowledge on Identification and trouble shooting of problems in HVAC system.
• Knowledge of Hoshin Kanri targets, KPIs, continual improvement programs which include MTTR, MTBF, PM implementation, spare parts management, Statutory compliance management.
• Added advantage if having six sigma green belt or black belt certification.
• Knowledge of sustainability and GSR activities.
• Thorough knowledge of building management systems, Scada systems, Handling HVAC system during fire emergencies.
