Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Chennai is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Engineer to work on z/OS systems, storage, and performance tuning.

You will collaborate across teams to implement DR drills, optimize MIPS, and manage complex storage environments including IBM DS8000 and EMC arrays.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with z12/z13/z14/z15 Mainframe hardware.
• Experience with SMP/E, various ISV products, UserMods and Exits.
• Proficient in JCL, Assembler, REXX, CA-OPS/MVS; Tivoli SA knowledge is essential.
• IODF/IOCDS, HCD/HCM, capacity planning and performance tuning.
• DR setup and drills; MIPS optimization and software rationalization.
• Setup and management of DC storage replication and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform BAU and project OS/Storage related activities.
• Manage PARMLIB/PROCLIB concatenation and memory region tuning.
• Set up and operate mainframe DC storage replication and DR drills.
• Hands-on with IBM DS8000/TS7000 and EMC storage products.
• Optimize system performance and rationalize software assets.

• Hands-on experience with z12/z13/z14/z15 Mainframe HW and Sysplex Setup
• SMP/E, various ISV products, UserMods and Exits.
• Mainframe Tools OMEGAMON, TEPS, Netview, SIEM
• Assembler, REXX, JCL and CA-OPS/MVS, Tivoli SA Automation
• Tivoli SA knowledge is very important
• IODF/IOCDS, HCD/HCM, Mainframe Capacity Planning and Performance Tuning
• PARMLIB and PROCLIB concatenation, Memory Regions customization and maintenance
• Experience in Disaster Recovery setup and conducting DR drills.
• Experience in Mainframe MIPS Optimization, Software rationalization
• Hands-on experience with IBM DS8000, IBM TS7000, EMC-VMAX/PowerMax & DLm HW
• IBM-Metro/Global Mirror, Copy Services, EMC-SRDF, EMC-GDDR
• DFSMS suite, CA-1, IBM CSM
• Flash Copy, BCV-SnapVX, zDP, Safe Guarded Copy (SGC)
• Setup and Manager Mainframe DC Storage Replication
• Perform all BAU and Project related Mainframe OS/Storage related activities.
