Job summary

Cognizant in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Mainframe Testing specialist to analyze business requirements, design test scenarios, and execute comprehensive test cycles across Functional, System, Integration, and Regression testing.

The role requires hands-on COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS, plus Batch Testing, File Validation, and strong SQL/DB2 skills. You will collaborate with development and business teams, contribute to test planning, UAT support, and production validation.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Mainframe Testing.
• Hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS.
• Experience in Batch Testing and File Validation.
• Good understanding of SDLC and STLC processes.
• Experience in Test Case Preparation and Execution.
• Strong SQL/DB2 Query knowledge.
• Experience with defect management tools such as JIRA or ALM.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.

Required Candidate Profile

• 6-10 years of relevant Mainframe Testing experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
