Job summary

Cognizant in Gurgaon is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to design, develop, test and support core mainframe applications using COBOL, PL/I, JCL and DB2 in a hybrid work arrangement.

The role requires hands-on Mainframe experience, knowledge of SDLC, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile and Waterfall environments.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in: Mainframe, PL1, IMS DB, COBOL, JCL, DB2, MQ.
• Experience with Mainframe DevOps tools such as: Compuware, IBM Mainframe Tools, Micro Focus.
• Good understanding of SDLC processes and experience in Agile and Waterfall delivery.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining Mainframe applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support Mainframe applications.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform coding, debugging, unit testing, and production support activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
