Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to design, implement, and maintain high-reliability mainframe applications. You will tackle production issues on LIFECOMM/L70 interfaces and work with COBOL, CICS, and JCL in a complex financial services environment.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of experience, strong communication, and the ability to create technical specifications while collaborating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Mainframe development and maintenance experience.

• Hands-on skills in COBOL, CICS, JCL, and related mainframe tools.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools is a plus.

Essential Job Functions

• 4+ year of experience in Mainframe Application development and Maintenance.
• Strong experience on resolving production issues for LIFECOMM/L70 and related interface system
• Experience on Assembler, COBOL, CICS, MVS /JCL, VSAM, Easytrieve, DB2, TSO/ISPF

Awareness and hands-on experience with Generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Amazon Q, or similar tools for code analysis, debugging, documentation, code conversion, and development productivity. Candidates should demonstrate an interest in applying AI to modernize and improve Mainframe applications.

• Must have expertise in life Insurance/ Annuity domain.
• Experienced in end to end development & testing model
• Create technical Specification document & Conduct technical walkthrough with various stakeholders and obtain required sign offs
• Unit test plan, planning and execution
• Support for Program management activities including regular status reporting and escalation of challenges/ risks on timely basis
• Must have excellent Communication Skills

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Typically, 4+ years of relevant work experience in industry
• Proficiency in coding and debugging complex software components
• Familiarity with software development practices and methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to challenging technical tasks

• Advanced degree in a related field is a plus
• Relevant certifications or training a plus
