Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced Mainframe Assembler to join our team in multiple locations across India. The role requires strong IBM Mainframe skills and the ability to work within an onshore/offshore delivery model.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with MVS Assembler, JCL, and related tools, with Cobol, DB2, and PL/1 as value-adds. Strong analytical and mentoring capabilities are expected.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of IBM Mainframe Assembler experience.
• Must-have: MVS Assembler and JCL.
• Good-to-have: Cobol, DB2, PL/1.
• Experience with IBM Mainframe tools and concepts.
• Experience with onshore/offshore delivery model and team mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop IBM Mainframe Assembler based applications.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and data flows.
• Lead and collaborate with onshore/offshore teams across SDLC phases.
• Provide technical guidance and code reviews for Mainframe projects.
• Create high-level design and low-level design documents.
• Mentor junior developers and drive best practices in Mainframe development.

Exp:- 5 to 10 Years

Location:- Chennai , Pune , Bangalore, Indore, Mumbai & Hyderabad

Must-Have MVS Assembler, JCL

Good-to-Have Cobol, DB2, PL/1

SN Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

• 1 6+ Years of Experience in IBM Mainframe Assembler
• 2 Very Strong Knowledge on IBM Mainframe Assembler
• 3 Experience in IBM Mainframe, Cobol, PL/1, DB2, JCL, ISPW, ISPF, MQ series
• 4 Expertise in designing, development of IBM Mainframe Assembler based Applications
• 5 Experience in writing HLD, LLD and creating data flow diagrams
• 6 Experience with Banking domain, Line of credit and Retail Banking Industry.
• 7 Strong Analysis and Design experience in complex applications
• 8 Expertise & Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• 9 Experience in working with Onshore / Offshore model
• 10 Experience with Team Management, Technical Leadership & Mentoring
• 11 Expert in managing and executing all phases of SDLC
• 12 Strong analytical, relationship management, Presentation, Written & Verbal communication skills.
