Job summary

Cummins Inc. in India seeks a Line Coordinator with hands-on CNC machining experience on HMC/VMC lines. You will coordinate shop floor activities, ensure production targets and maintain quality and safety standards on Cylinder Head and Cylinder Block machining lines.

You will lead and coach operators, manage manpower, monitor OEE, and drive continuous improvement using 5S, Kaizen, Lean manufacturing, and QSBE principles in a high-safety environment.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering is required.
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Experience with CNC machining lines (HMC/VMC) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operations on HMC/VMC lines for Cylinder Head and Cylinder Block components.
  • Ensure production targets are met while upholding quality and safety standards.
  • Allocate and manage manpower efficiently across the machining line.
  • Monitor machine utilization, downtime, and OEE.
  • Ensure proper machine setup, tool changes, and process adherence.
  • Guide operators on process parameters and best practices.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain in-process quality checks and compliance with inspection standards.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and production planning teams for seamless operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Lean manufacturing, QSBE).

Job Summary

Analyzes and manufactures complex components using machine tool equipment. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. May work independently and instruct or coach others.

Ability to use precision measuring devices, layout work and set up tool room machines to build or fabricate details and assemble as needed. Instructs and coaches others and acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience. Performs and documents preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities. Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks. Performs other duties as required to meet business goals. Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
