Job summary

The Machine Learning Analyst at Wadhwani AI will work with data to build and evaluate ML solutions aimed at public health and development challenges. You will curate datasets, run basic ML models, and assist in training and deploying models under expert guidance.

You will collaborate with data, modeling, and end-users to ensure scalable results, learn best practices, and contribute to well-documented code and reports while using tools like Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, Docker, and GitHub.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background in a quantitative field and 0–1 years of work experience.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to do applied work for social good.
• Solid coding skills in Python, C++, or Java and interest in applying software engineering practices to ML projects.
• Track record of project work in applied ML; experience with real-world problems is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.

Job Description

The Machine Learning Analyst (ML Analyst) at Wadhwani AI plays a key role in developing data-driven AI solutions aimed at improving lives in underserved communities across the developing world. This role involves hands-on work with data, including creating, preparing, and curating datasets, as well as applying straightforward machine learning models to analyze and visualize results. ML Analysts will support the training and deployment of advanced machine learning and deep learning models under expert guidance. They will actively contribute to the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle, collaborating closely with data, models, and real-world users to ensure impactful and scalable solutions.

Pre-requisites

• The ML Analyst position is open to all with prior training in Engineering or any related quantitative sciences discipline.
  
• No prior experience in Machine Learning or Deep Learning is required.
  
• Candidates with exposure to ML/DL (if any) are expected to have a clear and rigorous understanding of the concepts they are familiar with.
  
• Strong skills in data handling and logical problem-solving.
  
• Demonstrates quick learning ability and a strong work ethic.
  
• Willingness to take on any task, learn new tools, and adapt to evolving project needs.
  

Roles and Responsibilities

• Work closely with data to support the development of ML and DL solutions.

Requirements

• ML Analysts will have a strong academic background in a quantitative field such as B.Tech./B.E./B.S./M.Tech./M.E./M.S./M.Sc. or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a relevant quantitative field, with 0–1 years of work experience.
  
• Candidates should have excellent communication skills and a willingness to adapt to the challenges of doing applied work for social good.
  
• Solid coding skills in one or more languages, including Python, C++, or Java.
  
• Interest in applying software engineering practices to ML projects.
  
• Track record of project work in applied machine learning. Experience in applying AI models to concrete real-world problems is a plus.
