Job summary

Allps GmbH is seeking an experienced M365 / Exchange Online Architect to design and implement enterprise-grade backup, recovery, and data protection across Microsoft 365 for large enterprises. You will lead strategies for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams, ensuring business continuity, compliance, and secure data management.

Responsibilities include defining RTO/RPO, ensuring retention and eDiscovery compliance, and selecting Microsoft and third‑party backup technologies.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced M365 / Exchange Online Architect to design and implement enterprise-grade backup, recovery, and data protection strategies across Microsoft 365. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Exchange Online and other M365 workloads, ensuring business continuity, compliance, and secure data management for large enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design backup and disaster recovery solutions for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
• Define and implement Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
• Ensure compliance with Microsoft 365 retention, legal hold, and eDiscovery requirements.
• Architect secure and scalable backup solutions for large enterprise environments.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and compliance teams to align backup and governance strategies.
• Evaluate and recommend Microsoft and third‑party backup technologies.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 architecture and administration.
• Strong expertise in Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Graph API.
• Experience designing backup and recovery solutions for 5,000+ Microsoft 365 users.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Purview, retention policies, eDiscovery, and compliance.
• Experience with enterprise backup platforms such as Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, or AvePoint.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security and governance best practices.

Nice to Have

• Microsoft certifications (Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Azure).
• Experience with hybrid Exchange environments.
• Knowledge of PowerShell automation and Microsoft Entra ID.
