Job summary

PayU India is seeking an M3 Director – Corporate Controllership to lead group consolidation, related-party benchmarking, and monthly reporting across entities. Reporting to Corporate Controller, you will own controllership processes, ensure robust accounting under Ind AS/IFRS, and support Payments/Lending reporting.

Qualifications

  • CA qualification mandatory with 10–12 years post-qualification experience.
  • Hands-on in group consolidation and financial reporting across multiple entities.
  • Experience managing multiple close cycles and controllership processes.
  • Exposure to Payments, Fintech, NBFC or Lending; Big Four background preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Ind AS/IFRS and RBI regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficient in SAP or equivalent ERP and advanced Excel; familiarity with consolidation tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead group consolidation including intercompany eliminations and minority interest.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements under Ind AS/IFRS (110,111, etc.).
  • Own group-wide chart of accounts and submission trackers; resolve breaks.
  • Support acquisitions, due diligence, and restructuring activities.
  • Lead impairment and going-concern assessments; benchmark related-party transactions.
  • Coordinate with tax and regulatory reporting; prepare Audit Committee materials.
  • Drive monthly close, MIS, variance analysis and KPI dashboards.
  • Partner with FP&A on budgets; identify automation opportunities across close cycle.
  • Apply Payments and Lending accounting knowledge; coordinate RBI/NPCI filings.
  • Support ICOFR/SOX testing and external/audit coordination; mentor team of five.

The Finance team at PayU India is a dynamic and growing organization that plays a critical role in supporting the company's rapid expansion and strategic initiatives. As part of the Group Financial Controller's organization, the Financial Reporting team leads the Control, Compliance, Audit, and Tax agenda across all group entities. Our team is responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and regulatory compliance as we scale our operations. We work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, and various business units to maintain the highest standards of financial integrity and transparency. The team is also actively involved in preparing the organization for significant milestones including IPO readiness.

About the Role

We are looking for an M3 Director – Corporate Controllership to lead group consolidation, related-party transaction benchmarking, and monthly management reporting across legal entities. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role will own key controllership processes, ensure robust technical accounting under Ind AS/IFRS, and support reporting requirements for Payments and Lending businesses. The role requires hands‑on execution, strong process ownership, and the ability to manage multiple entity close cycles. The incumbent will lead a team of five executives/analysts and will have increasing exposure to Audit Committee deliverables, parent‑entity leadership, acquisitions, divestitures, and team mentoring.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead group consolidation across legal entities, including intercompany eliminations, minority interest, and equity-accounting adjustments.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with Ind AS 110, 111, 28 and applicable group accounting policies.
  • Own and maintain the group-wide chart of accounts and entity-level submission trackers.
  • Resolve inter-entity reconciliation breaks and upscale consolidation risks with recommended solutions.
  • Support acquisitions, due diligence, valuation, recognition of intangible assets, divestitures, and internal legal‑entity restructuring.
  • Lead impairment and going‑concern assessments.
  • Maintain the related‑party transaction register and benchmarking documentation, ensuring arm’s-length pricing support.
  • Coordinate with tax and transfer‑pricing advisors and ensure alignment with Companies Act Section 188 and Ind AS 24 disclosure requirements.
  • Prepare RPT summaries, benchmarking schedules, approval trackers, threshold monitoring, and omnibus approval renewals for Audit Committee materials.
  • Drive monthly close activities for assigned entities, including MIS, variance analysis, KPI dashboards, and financial‑pack submissions.
  • Partner with FP&A on budget-versus-actual analysis and commentary.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and technology‑enabled productivity solutions across the close cycle.
  • Apply working knowledge of Payments accounting, including MDR, interchange, escrow/nodal accounts, and settlement accounting.
  • Apply working knowledge of Lending/NBFC reporting requirements, including EIR, ECL under Ind AS 109, and DLG/FLDG.
  • Coordinate with regulatory reporting teams to reconcile RBI, NPCI, and statutory filing data with financial reporting.
  • Support ICOFR/SOX testing and evidence documentation for Payments and Lending revenue streams.
  • Coordinate with statutory and internal auditors on consolidation, RPT, and reporting matters.
  • Prepare audit schedules, working papers, and Audit Committee papers under the guidance of the Corporate Controller.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of five executives/analysts.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) — mandatory.
  • 10–12 years of post‑qualification experience, with strong hands‑on experience in group consolidation and financial reporting.
  • Experience managing multiple legal‑entity close cycles and controllership processes.
  • Exposure to Payments, Fintech, NBFC, or Lending businesses preferred; direct hands‑on experience will be an advantage.
  • Big Four experience in statutory audit or advisory is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ind AS/IFRS, particularly Ind AS 110, 111, 24, 109, and 115.
  • Familiarity with RBI regulatory frameworks for Payments and NBFCs.
  • Experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP and advanced Excel skills.
  • Exposure to consolidation tools such as HFM or OneStream will be an advantage.
  • AI‑literate, with the ability to spearhead the use of technology and productivity tools.
  • Strong execution discipline and attention to accuracy and timelines.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under tight reporting deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, particularly for audit, management, and leadership reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate effectively across Finance, Tax, FP&A, Audit, and regulatory reporting teams.
