Job summary

Dainik Jobs Placement seeks a Senior General Manager to lead Site EHS, IMS, and manufacturing quality as part of a World Class Manufacturing transformation. You will drive a strong systems- and process-oriented culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with the VP of Operations to deliver sustainable operational excellence.

The role requires 15–20 years in manufacturing with senior leadership experience, and a track record in Lean/ISO-based transformations.

Qualifications

  • 15–20 years of manufacturing experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong exposure to EHS, IMS, Quality, and Manufacturing Excellence.
  • Proven track record in plant transformation or WCM/Lean deployment; certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for Site EHS, IMS, and quality systems across the site.
  • Drive ISO audits, document control, and governance; enable digitalization where feasible.
  • Strengthen product conformity, root-cause analysis, and COPQ reduction.
  • Lead WCM transformation with cross-functional teams and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote standard work, change management, and data-driven decision making.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing EHS, Quality, and IMS team.

Job description

Role Purpose

The Senior General Manager will lead and strengthen Site EHS (Environment, Health & Safety),Integrated Management Systems (IMS), and overall manufacturing quality to support thetransformation of the plant into a World Class Manufacturing (WCM) facility. The role will drive astrong systems- and process-oriented culture,ensure regulatory and standards compliance, andpartner closely with the VP - Operations to deliver sustainable operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1. Site EHS Leadership Provide strategic and operational leadership for Environment, Health & Safety across the manufacturing site. Ensure full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate EHS requirements. Drive proactive safety culture through risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, andpreventive actions. Establish and monitor leading and lagging EHS KPIs; implement improvement plans. Champion zero-harm mindset and embed safety into all operational processes. Drive the organization to ZERO Incident Culture

  • 2. Integrated Management Systems (IMS) Own and continuously improve IMS framework (ISO 9001, ISO , ISO and otherapplicable standards). Ensure audit readiness and successful certification/recertification. Standardize processes, documentation, and governance across the site. Drive digitalization and simplification of management systems where feasible. Build internal capability for robust system ownership across functions.

  • 3. Manufacturing Quality & Process Excellence Strengthen quality systems to ensure consistent product conformity and customer satisfaction. Lead root cause analysis and systemic corrective actions for quality issues. Drive process capability improvement, defect reduction, and cost of poor-quality reduction. Implement best practices in quality assurance, quality control, and process validation. Promote data-driven decision making across manufacturing operations.

  • 4. World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Transformation Partner with VP - Operations to develop and execute the site’s WCM roadmap. Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, etc.). Identify productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction opportunities. Build a high-performance, continuous improvement culture across the plant. Benchmark against industry best practices and implement gap closure plans.

  • 5. Systems & Process Improvement Drive standard work, process discipline, and operational governance. Lead cross-functional improvement projects with measurable business impact. Improve process robustness, repeatability, and scalability. Ensure strong change management and sustainment mechanisms. Promote automation and digital initiatives where value-accretive.

  • 6. Stakeholder & Team Leadership Act as a key advisor to VP - Operations on site transformation priorities. Develop and mentor a high-performing EHS, Quality, and IMS team. Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, HR, and Engineering. Engage with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and customers as required. Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous learning.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Industrial / Chemical or related). 15-20 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Strong exposure to EHS, IMS, Quality, and Manufacturing Excellence. Proven track record in plant transformation or WCM/Lean deployment. Certified Lead Auditor (ISO standards) and/or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
