The Loan Reference Data product at S&P Global supports both internal and external clients by providing structured loan data and tracking used across the broader marketplace.
The Team
The Loan Reference Data team delivers data services to internal systems and external clients. The group focuses on organizing and maintaining loan reference information used across S&P Global platforms.
The Impact
Loan Reference Data Operations acts as a link between clients and several S&P Global platforms including WSOWeb, WSOData, and Loan Pricing. The team manages the initial setup of deal data and ensures the accuracy and integrity of reference information.
This position supports daily operational activities and helps refine existing processes to ensure reliable delivery of loan data. The role involves working with colleagues across global offices including Gurgaon, Noida, Kuala Lumpur, Dallas, New York, Manchester, and London.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze new deal closings, credit agreements, amendments, and restructurings
- Process financial data, manage exceptions, create new assets, and communicate with clients
- Create new loan records in S&P Global WSOData and configure contracts and amortization schedules
- Set up assets in S&P Global WSOWeb including bonds, CDS, ABS, and equities
- Recommend improvements to policies and procedures that support data accuracy and auditing
- Maintain and update the documentation library by collecting required materials
- Manage and maintain loan identifier records
- Perform ad hoc reporting, analysis, and investigate issues with supporting explanations
- Support business protection through documentation, procedures, metrics, and data validation
- Work with internal teams and clients to gather information required for accurate reference data
- Conduct quality assurance checks on credit data
- Assist with additional operational tasks as required by the team
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred but not mandatory
- Strong ability to analyze and query large financial datasets
- Capability to work in a fast paced environment while managing multiple tasks
- Ability to document processes clearly and maintain organized records
- High attention to detail and proactive work approach
- Comfort working independently as well as collaborating with global teams
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with MS Office tools, Access Database, and SQL queries are beneficial
- Knowledge of the syndicated loan market, credit agreements, and corporate rating structures such as Moody’s or S&P methodologies is an advantage
