You will join a large, dynamic SLT team with opportunities for professional development and use of digital platforms for service delivery. Relocation assistance may be available.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Speech & Language Therapist to join our team. The role is based in Inverurie health and care hub and the surrounding area. You will provide a community service to children 0-18 years in the areas surrounding Inverurie in central Aberdeenshire. You will be working with children and young people and their families in clinic and home settings and will support a range of communication needs including those with complex needs. You will be working with the Speech and Language Therapists and assistants who work in the Central Aberdeenshire area.

In recent years the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) service has successfully developed universal and targeted strands of work alongside its individualised specialist services, which enable rapid response to referrals and ensure caseload flow. The SLT service has also seen a significant increase in its use of digital platforms and technologies across the service.

The Aberdeenshire SLT team is a large and dynamic team covering all of Aberdeenshire. We meet regularly with local mini team and regional full team meetings. We value staff members and focus on their wellbeing. Continuing professional and personal development is well supported and staff members are actively encouraged to contribute to the development of the service as a whole.

The Speech and Language therapists working in Aberdeenshire are well linked to other Speech and Language therapist and clinicians across NHS Grampian.

NHS Grampian Speech and Language teams cover the North East of Scotland serving a region from the cairngorms to the North Sea including coastal moray. The ARI hospital site houses all clinical specialties with the exception of organ transplant and paediatric ITU. NHS Grampian provides healthcare for a population of 540,000 with around 40% living within Aberdeen, 40% in Aberdeenshire and the remaining percentage in Moray.

Due to the rural nature of this post a car driver and access to a car is essential and the role does require travel around the area. You must be HCPC registered
