Job summary

Deloitte US-India Offices is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to install, configure, and maintain Linux OSs (SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky Linux) and to manage VMware vSphere and Proxmox virtualization.

The role emphasizes automation with Bash, Python, Ansible, and Salt, plus strong networking and security practices. Candidate will collaborate with Cloud, DevOps, and Networking teams to ensure reliability, perform patching, and document procedures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux administration experience in enterprise or production environments.
• Hands-on with SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian, and Rocky Linux.
• Experience managing VMware vSphere and Proxmox virtualization platforms.
• Cloud knowledge across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Automation and configuration management with Ansible and Salt.
• Scripting with Bash; Python/Perl knowledge is a plus.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SSH, and firewall technologies.
• Experience with NFS/CIFS, enterprise storage, and server hardware administration.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex Linux, networking, hardware, storage, and virtualization issues in production environments.
• Collaborate with Cloud, DevOps, Networking, and Application teams for infrastructure support and deployment activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
