Job summary

Analog Devices India Pvt Ltd is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to join the global Engineering-IT team. The role focuses on managing large enterprise Linux environments (RHEL/Ubuntu), supporting design management infrastructure for Perforce, and ensuring security and reliability across on-premises and AWS-based systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of Linux system administration experience.
  • Experience managing enterprise Linux environments (RHEL/Ubuntu).
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V) and designing infrastructure for design tooling.
  • Scripting in shell or Python; strong command-line proficiency.
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SSH, NTP).
  • Experience with monitoring/logging tools: Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Linux OS & apps (RHEL/Ubuntu) in physical/virtual environments.
  • Monitor systems, patch, troubleshoot, and tune performance.
  • Manage enterprise identity services and access controls.
  • Support physical, virtual, and AWS-based Linux environments for design work.
  • Manage Perforce P4/Methodics hosting infrastructure and related services.
  • Ensure system reliability, security, and compliance; perform incident response.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Linux system Administrator to be part of the global Engineering-IT organization. The ideal candidate must have 5+ years' experience in managing Linux environment in large enterprise which includes 2-3 years' experience in managing Design Management Infrastructure for Perforce or similar tools. This role requires strong technical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
Linux System Administration
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Linux OS & application (Red Hat and Ubuntu) in a physical and virtual environment
  • Perform system monitoring, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Manage enterprise identity services and access controls.
Infrastructure & Platform Support
  • Support physical, virtual, and AWS‑based Linux environments used for semiconductor design
  • Manage Perforce – P4/Methodics hosting infrastructure, performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Manage core infrastructure services such as DNS, LDAP, NFS, and web/application servers.
  • Ensure system reliability, availability, and security.
Security & Compliance
  • Implement security best practices, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Support audits, compliance activities, firewall management, and access reviews.
Incident Management & Operations
  • Monitor infrastructure health and respond to system issues and outages.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain operational documentation and procedures.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop tools and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support infrastructure automation, configuration management, and DevOps initiatives.
Collaboration & Support
  • Work closely with engineering, network, security, cloud, and application teams.
  • Provide technical support and knowledge sharing across the IT organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of Linux system administration experience.
  • Experience managing enterprise Linux environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu.
  • Experience supporting virtualized environments such as VMware, Hyper‑V, or similar platforms.
  • Experience in Design Management application management.
  • Proficiency in scripting (shell/ python) and advanced Linux command‑line administration.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SSH, and NTP.
  • Experience with configuring monitoring and logging tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in semiconductors, EDA, or high‑performance computing (HPC) environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Knowledge of NetApp storage and storage protocols like NFS/SAN/iSCSI.
  • Conversant with different database platforms used in Design Management environment.
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
  • Knowledge of container technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Training / Certification in RHEL, Perforce technologies.
Soft Skills
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Customer‑focused mindset.
  • Experience with project management and using AI tools to improve productivity is a plus.
