Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Bangalore is seeking an experienced Linux AIX Administrator to manage RHEL/AIX servers, perform patching, kernel upgrades, and security administration. You will work in a 24x7 support environment with rotating shifts and provide Level 2 support while optimizing system performance and reliability.

The role emphasizes scripting (Shell/Python/Ansible), log analysis, backup/restoration, and disaster recovery tests, with documentation of configurations and changes.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Work in a 24x7 support environment with rotating shifts.
• Administer RHEL and AIX servers on a day-to-day basis.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and security policies.
• Apply OS patches, firmware updates and kernel upgrades.
• Provide Level 2 support for escalated issues.
• Troubleshoot performance, disk space and network issues.
• Coordinate with vendors for fixes and updates.
• Monitor system health with Nagios, NMON or Red Hat Insights.
• Analyze logs and optimize performance.
• Ensure backups run successfully and perform restore tests.
• Support disaster recovery drills.
• Develop scripts in Shell, Python or Ansible for tasks.
• Maintain documentation of configurations and changes.
