Quess IT Solutions is seeking a skilled Linux Administrator + DevSecOps Engineer to join our Bengaluru team. You will install, configure, secure, and automate Linux environments while bridging infrastructure with DevOps practices for high availability and compliance.

The role requires hands-on experience with Ubuntu 22.x+, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and scripting in Bash or Python. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to ensure secure, reliable operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Role Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, security, and automation of enterprise Linux environments. You will play a critical role in bridging infrastructure management with DevOps practices, ensuring system availability, security compliance, and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Linux Administration: Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems (specifically Ubuntu 22.x or higher). Perform software upgrades, deployment, and issue resolution for enterprise applications.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation solutions using Ansible for configuration management, deployment, patching, and server administration (must be able to write and manage complex playbooks). Create automation scripts using Bash or Python.
• Containerization & DevSecOps: Manage and troubleshoot Docker containers (writing Dockerfiles, building containers, Docker Compose) and Kubernetes environments.
• Security & Web Servers: Support Web Application Servers hosted on Linux. Configure and manage TLS/SSL encryption and secure communication channels. Apply security patches, define patch management processes, and fix vulnerabilities.
• Networking & Databases: Troubleshoot network-related outages (routers, switches, VLANs, DNS, firewalls). Handle database installations, implementation, and foundational query-level management.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams for seamless deployment and operational activities.

Must-Have Skills (Strictly Evaluated)

• Strong hands-on experience with Ubuntu Linux (22.x+) administration and troubleshooting.
• In-depth Ansible experience (end-to-end playbook creation and implementation).
• Hands-on experience with Docker & Kubernetes.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash and/or Python.
• Solid understanding of Networking fundamentals and Database management (implementation and queries).
• Proven experience in Patch Management and securing Web Application Servers (TLS/SSL).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical challenges and collaborate effectively with global teams.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Exposure to broad DevOps and Infrastructure Automation practices.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
