Job Opening: Linux Administrator (L2) - 4 to 6 Years Experience - Bangalore

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is hiring for a Linux Administrator (L2) for the Bangalore location.

Face-to-face interviews scheduled for 10th May at TCS Prestige Shantiniketana, Crescent-3.

Job Description:

• Deep knowledge of Linux distributions such as SUSE and RedHat.
• Install, maintain, and monitor server hardware and software systems to ensure performance and availability.
• Proficiency with protocols including DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, and SNMP.
• Experience with Linux-based VPN clients, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, filesystems, and authentication methods.
• Hands-on experience with tools like traceroute, tcpdump, tracepath, nc, ifconfig, nmap, netstat, ethtool, RAID, and various storage/class types.
• Manage DNS, FTP, Samba, LDAP, email, NTP, NFS, DHCP services, and related configurations; familiarity with vmstat, iostat, nfstate.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Linux/cloud administrator.
• Knowledge of at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Extensive experience in storage and filesystem management.
• Assist users in resolving account and system issues.
• Monitor system performance, ensure reliability and availability.
• Troubleshoot Linux server issues across various Linux versions.
• Conduct testing of new Linux versions and applications as needed.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain Linux-based systems, specifically SUSE.
• Experience with backup and recovery processes.
