Job description

As a Linux Administrator, you will administer and manage RHEL infrastructure across the APAC region. You will work closely with infrastructure, application, network, and security teams to ensure Linux systems are secure, stable, and optimised for performance and high availability.

What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in RHEL system administration, including installation, configuration, hardening, and lifecycle management.
  • Design, implement, and manage Linux clustering solutions such as Pacemaker clusters and IBM GPFS (Spectrum Scale).
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise Linux infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Design and implement infrastructure improvements to enhance security, stability, and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain configuration management solutions using Ansible for provisioning, patching, and automation.
  • Create and maintain automation playbooks and scripts to streamline deployments and cluster operations.
  • Collaborate with application, middleware, and storage teams to integrate Linux systems with business applications.
  • Ensure compliance with internal security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively monitor system and cluster performance, conducting capacity planning to anticipate resource needs.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents, manage escalations, and coordinate with vendors such as Red Hat and IBM.
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance including patching, upgrades, and system hardening.
  • Perform system tuning, optimisation, and capacity planning across standalone and clustered environments.
  • Fulfil service and change requests in line with ITSM and change management processes.
  • Manage VMware virtualised environments hosting Linux workloads.
  • Contribute technical input, design reviews, and advisory support for infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain accurate system, cluster, and configuration documentation.

  • You have 10+ years of relevant experience as a Unix administrator in on-premise setups.
  • You have strong technical knowledge in Linux administration and maintenance.
  • You have experience with high availability and virtualisation technologies.
  • You have exposure to storage administration and SAN technologies.
  • You have worked collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams in both project and operational environments.
Technical Expertise
  • You are proficient in RHEL administration, clustering solutions (Pacemaker, IBM GPFS), and VMware virtualisation.
  • You are skilled in Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • You are experienced in system tuning, optimisation, and capacity planning.
  • You are familiar with ITSM, ITIL, or similar frameworks.
