Job summary

Hitachi Payment Services Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai invites an experienced Linux Admin L2 to join IT Infra. You will be the first point of escalation for Linux server issues and work with project teams on new server builds and migrations.

You should have 4+ years of Linux administration, strong LVM, OS hardening, and scripting skills. The role is full-time on site in Chennai, with opportunities to contribute to security and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Linux administrator experience.
• Strong experience with LVM and OS hardening.
• Familiarity with web servers (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat).
• Proficient in scripting to automate tasks.

Responsibilities

• First point of escalation for Linux server issues.
• Perform RCA for major incidents.
• Handle OS upgrades, server migrations and maintenance.
• Tune performance and patch vulnerabilities.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

• First point of escalation for all technical and process issues.
• Perform RCA for Major Incidents related to Linux servers.
• Follow quality / security process defined for the engagement.
• Work with project/Application teams for activities such as new server build, OS upgrades, migrations etc.
• Experience and Expert in LVM • Patch and vulnerability closer • Server / OS Crash analysis.
• Performance tuning / OS hardening
• Firmware upgrade

Skills:

• Expertise in automation and reduction of manual, efforts through Scripting/tools
• Good Linux administration skills in various flavours (CentOS, Red hat and SUSE).
• Troubleshooting skills such as OS Booting and other OS Problems
• Good skills in incidents tracking from Logs & Ticketing tools
• Knowledge on Web servers (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat …etc.)
• Additional Advantage: Nagios Cacti & MySQL.

Experience:

• 4+ years.
