HITACHI INDIA PVT. LTD. seeks a Linux Admin L1 Executive in IT Infra to monitor and manage 24x7 server environments in Chennai. The role focuses on proactive alerting, documentation, and infrastructure support across servers, networks, storage and databases. It requires strong Linux skills and scripting to keep systems reliable.

Experience with web servers (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat) and familiarity with AWS/Nagios/Cacti/MySQL is advantageous. This is a full‑time position based in Chennai, India.

Qualifications

• Good Linux administration across CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat, SUSE.
• Troubleshooting booting problems.
• Experiences with incident tracking from logs and tickets.
• Shell scripting to support web servers (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, etc.).

Responsibilities

• 24x7 proactive monitoring of server environment and escalations.
• Prepare and maintain documentation and server inventory.
• Monitor All domains to cover 24x7 IT environment (Server, Network, Storage, DB).
• Operate per documented procedures and follow up on tasks.
• Assist in analysis of alerts from infrastructure devices.
• Tune configurations to maintain monitoring performance.

Job Roles & Responsibilities

• 24x7 proactive monitoring of server environment alerts via monitoring tool and Email Escalations and follow up with the IT System Admin team as well as specific application team on pending high-priority trouble tickets
• Prepare and maintain Documentation, server inventory and provide follow up status on identified tasks
• Monitoring Team with L1 Resources for All domains to cover 24x7 IT Environment (Server, Network,Storage and Database)
• Perform operations based on the documented procedures
• Assist in analysis of the reporting and alerts raised by various infrastructure devices
• Fine tuning of configuration to maintain performance and functionality of the monitoring solutions in place.

Skills

• Good Linux administration skills in various flavors (CentOS, Ubuntu and Red hat, SUSE).
• Troubleshooting skills in Booting Problems
• Good skills in incidents tracking from Logs & Ticketing tools
• Good Skills in Shell Scripting Knowledge on Web servers (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat ...etc.)
