Job summary

PwC Acceleration Center India is seeking a Linux Admin - Associate to manage and optimize Linux infrastructure across on‑premise and cloud environments. You’ll support cross‑functional teams, implement automation, monitor performance, and ensure security and availability for client workloads.

Responsibilities span building, patching, virtualization and container platforms, scripting with Bash/Python, and collaborating on DevOps pipelines using tools like Ansible, Terraform and Jenkins.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 2 years of Linux experience (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
  • Fluent English—oral and written.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and optimize Linux infrastructure on‑premise and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Monitor performance, analyze logs, and troubleshoot CPU, memory, storage, and network issues.
  • Automate routine tasks and deployments with shell, Python, and CM tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Manage users, groups, permissions, and SSH access per security policies.
  • Patch management, kernel upgrades, and software installations using YUM, APT, Zypper.
  • Design and test backup, recovery, and DR procedures.
  • Deploy and manage virtualization and container platforms (KVM, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Collaborate on cloud migrations and cross‑functional infrastructure projects.
  • Integrate Linux with LDAP/Active Directory, participate in 24/7 on‑call rotations.
  • Maintain runbooks and documentation; stay current with Linux security practices.

As a Linux Admin - Associate - MS CEDA - Operate, you will be at the forefront of managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services to facilitate seamless operations and availability for clients. You will focus on designing and implementing robust IT systems that support business operations, confirming the smooth functioning of networks, servers, and data centers. As an Associate, you will engage in learning and contributing to client projects, developing your skills and knowledge to deliver quality work. You will build meaningful client connections, manage and inspire others, and grow your personal brand by deepening your technical knowledge of firm services and technology resources.

In this role at PwC Acceleration Center India, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing Linux‑based infrastructure, whether on‑premise or in the cloud. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive automation and best practices across the environment. Your role will involve monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing industry‑leading practices for cloud‑based systems, while also confirming the availability, security, and performance of all Linux servers. This position offers a dynamic environment where you can develop your skills and contribute to the success of our clients within our Cloud Engineering, Data & Analytics practice.

Responsibilities
  • Building, maintaining, and optimizing Linux-based infrastructure on-premise or in the cloud using platforms like Azure and AWS
  • Monitoring system performance and analyzing logs to troubleshoot issues related to CPU, memory, storage, and network
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to support infrastructure projects and migrations
  • Automating routine tasks and deployments using shell scripting, Python, or configuration‑management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
  • Managing user accounts, groups, permissions, and SSH access in accordance with security policies
  • Performing patch management, kernel upgrades, and software installations using native package managers like YUM, APT, and Zypper
  • Designing, implementing, and testing backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery procedures
  • Deploying and managing virtualization and containerization platforms such as KVM, VMware, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Integrating Linux servers with directory services like LDAP and Active Directory
  • Participating in on-call rotations and responding to incidents in a 24/7 support model
  • Staying current with emerging Linux technologies, security practices, and industry standards
  • Maintaining detailed documentation of configurations, change records, and operational runbooks
What You Must Have
  • At least a Bachelor's degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE)
  • Oral and written proficiency in English required
What Sets You Apart
  • Holding Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC)
  • Familiarity with logging and monitoring stacks like ELK, Prometheus/Grafana, Nagios
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance requirements such as CIS Benchmarks, NIST, PCI DSS
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins, GitLab CI, Terraform
  • Utilizing cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud for hybrid‑cloud architectures
  • Engaging in cloud infrastructure optimization and cloud migration strategies
  • Demonstrating intellectual curiosity and adaptability in fast-paced environments
