Job summary

Arctic Engines, part of the Apna Group, seeks experienced Linguists with expertise in language technologies and AI data projects to develop linguistic rubrics, annotation taxonomies, and quality guidelines for multilingual AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to design and refine annotation frameworks, conduct linguistic reviews, and ensure high-quality deliverables across ASR, TTS, transcription, and NLP workflows.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Computational Linguistics.
• Native or near-native proficiency in the target language with excellent English communication skills.
• 3+ years of experience in AI language data, linguistic annotation, localization, or speech technology projects.
• Proven experience creating annotation guidelines, rubric/tag development, taxonomy design, and linguistic quality frameworks.
• Experience working directly with clients to develop and review linguistic guidelines.
• Strong understanding of ASR, TTS, transcription, speech annotation, and NLP workflows.

Role Overview
We are looking for experienced Linguists with expertise in language technologies and AI data projects. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in developing linguistic rubrics, annotation taxonomies, and quality guidelines, while collaborating with clients to design and refine annotation frameworks for multilingual AI projects.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review linguistic rubrics, taxonomies, and annotation guidelines
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to co‑develop project‑specific linguistic standards and documentation
• Conduct linguistic reviews, quality assurance, and error analysis to ensure high‑quality deliverables
• Support projects involving ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition), TTS (Text‑to‑Speech), transcription, speech annotation, and NLP
• Provide linguistic expertise to improve annotation quality and AI model performance

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Master's or Ph.D. in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or a related field
• Native or near‑native proficiency in the target language with excellent English communication skills
• 3+ years of experience in AI language data, linguistic annotation, localization, or speech technology projects
