Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking an Overhead Distribution Groundperson to support installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead lines, poles, and cables from ground level, emphasizing safety and teamwork in varied weather and sites.

You will assemble materials on the ground, assist line personnel, inspect tools daily, and communicate work details to property owners while adhering to regional safety guidelines. Travel for emergency storm work is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• May be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
• Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance or repair work on energized and de-energized overhead lines from ground level following safety standards.
• Assemble material on the ground for installation by line personnel or apprentices.
• Able to solve problems with unidentified circumstances on any job.
• Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
• Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Excavate to assist in installing structures or cable per contract specs.
• Communicate work details professionally to public and private property owners.
• Follow regional safety guidelines and policies at all times.
• Operate tools such as manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jack hammer, etc.
• Perform other duties as required by Supervisors.
• Report potential equipment and crew safety hazards to Foreperson.
• Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead line workfollowing company established Safety and Health standards and from the ground.
• Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.

• All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• May be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.

Education & Experience

• Ability to provide proof of work experience, schooling, and other certifications obtained during career.

Pre-Screen

License & Certifications

• Driver License Required, willingness to obtain a valid CDL within 90 days of employment preferred.

Travel Requirements

• Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
