Key Responsibilities
Lighting Design & Planning
- Develop innovative and efficient lighting design concepts based on project requirements.
- Prepare lighting layouts, fixture schedules, and lighting control philosophies.
- Conduct illumination calculations, energy analysis, and lighting simulations using industry-standard software.
- Design indoor, outdoor, faade, landscape, and architectural lighting systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable lighting standards, electrical codes, and client specifications.
- Optimize lighting designs for aesthetics, functionality, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
Technical Design & Documentation
- Prepare detailed drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and design reports.
- Develop lighting control schematics and integration requirements with automation systems.
- Review architectural and electrical drawings for lighting coordination.
- Prepare shop drawings and as-built documentation.
- Generate product submitting and technical presentations for client approvals..
Lighting Controls & Automation Integration
- Coordinate lighting control requirements with automation and BMS systems.
- Work closely with programming and commissioning teams for control system implementation.
- Support integration of DALI, KNX, DMX, Casambi, Lutron, Dynalite, and other smart lighting solutions.
- Ensure proper zoning, scene programming requirements, and energy-saving strategies.
Client & Consultant Coordination
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions.
- Coordinate with architects, interior designers, consultants, contractors, and OEMs.
- Present lighting concepts, mock-ups, and design proposals.
- Address design modifications and client feedback during project execution.
Project Execution Support
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning stages.
- Conduct site surveys and verify installation compliance with approved designs.
- Assist project teams in resolving lighting-related technical issues.
- Coordinate with procurement for fixture selection and vendor evaluation.
- Support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
Vendor & Product Management
- Evaluate lighting products and technologies from various manufacturers.
- Coordinate with suppliers for technical data, samples, and product approvals.
- Maintain an updated database of lighting fixtures, controls, and emerging technologies.
- Recommend cost-effective and technically suitable solutions.
Quality, Compliance & Innovation
- Ensure designs comply with relevant IS, IEC, NBC, and international lighting standards.
- Maintain quality control throughout design and execution stages.
- Stay updated on advancements in lighting technology, smart controls, and sustainable solutions.
- Participate in technical seminars, exhibitions, and industry workshops.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Dialux Evo, Relux, AGi32, or equivalent lighting design software.
- Knowledge of lighting control systems such as DALI, KNX, DMX, Casambi, Lutron, Dynalite, and BMS integration.
- Understanding of electrical systems, lighting calculations, and energy efficiency standards.
- Familiarity with BIM/Revit will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of LED technologies and smart lighting solutions.
