Job summary

Infosys in Bengaluru seeks a skilled Reliability Engineer to lead analyses of engine reliability, failures, and lifecycle costs, delivering actionable insights. You will work with airline operators, conduct event investigations, and support safety reviews to drive long-term improvements.

You will apply Weibull modeling, perform root cause analysis, and influence cross-functional design teams with predictive methods to reduce service costs and enhance engine on-wing time.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of gas turbine functionality and systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical responses to airline operators and conduct event investigations and safety reviews.
  • Perform technical and root cause analysis to support long-term corrective actions.
  • Participate in Event Management Boards and Safety Review Boards and present cases.
  • Identify and implement domain process improvements and tools.
  • Conduct reliability and lifecycle cost analysis to analyze failure trends and predict failure probability.
  • Apply Weibull distribution for predictive modeling.
  • Influence design teams to improve engine time-on-wing and shop visit costs.
  • Leverage in-service experience to deliver service cost reductions.

Job description

Experience in reliability engineering, failure analysis, and cost modeling. Familiarity with probability distribution functions and predictive analytics. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence design improvements.

Provide technical responses to airline operators and conduct event investigations and safety reviews. Perform technical analysis and root cause analysis to support long-term solutions and corrective actions. Participate in Event Management Boards and Safety Review Boards (e.g., Rolls‑Royce) and present cases effectively. Identify and implement process improvements and tools within the domain of expertise. Conduct reliability analysis and lifecycle cost analysis using advanced tools to analyze failure trends and predict failure probability. Apply probability distribution functions such as Weibull distribution for predictive modeling. Influence design teams using lifecycle cost analysis to improve engine time‑on‑wing and shop visit cost models. Utilize in‑service experience and predictive methods to deliver service cost reductions.

Technical degree (AME / BE / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech) in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industrial experience. Strong knowledge of gas turbine functionality, components, and systems with full consideration of form, fit, and function. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for data analysis and reporting.
