ROLE OVERVIEW

The Liaisoning Lead Professional will be responsible for managing and overseeing all liaisoning activities between the company, government authorities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders. The primary objective is to ensure compliance with regulations, obtain necessary approvals and permits, and foster positive relationships with external entities to facilitate smooth operations and project execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all interactions and communications with government authorities, including local, state, and central government bodies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant government officials, regulatory agencies, and departments to facilitate effective collaboration.
  • Stay updated on new laws, regulations, and policies related to real estate and construction, and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the timely acquisition of necessary approvals, permits, licenses, and clearances from relevant authorities.
  • Prepare and submit required documents, applications, and reports to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
2. Compliance & Regulatory Matters
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, building codes, environmental guidelines, and other applicable statutory requirements.
  • Monitor the progress of approvals and permits, follow up with authorities, and resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
  • Conduct periodic audits and reviews to assess compliance levels and identify gaps or areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement internal processes and systems to maintain compliance and ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Relationship Building
  • Build and maintain positive and productive relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry associations, local communities, and other external entities.
  • Act as a representative of the company in meetings, negotiations, and discussions with external parties, ensuring effective communication and representation of the company’s interests.
  • Provide liaisoning support and guidance to project teams, architects, contractors, and other internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of project‑related documents, such as land acquisition documents, NOCs, agreements, and contracts, to ensure compliance and accuracy.
4. Advisory & Risk Management
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on regulatory matters, policy changes, and potential risks that may impact the company’s operations or projects.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and best practices in liaisoning and regulatory affairs, and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Identify and proactively mitigate regulatory and compliance risks that could affect project timelines or statutory standing.
  • Liaise with legal counsel and internal teams to address complex regulatory scenarios and ensure decisions are well‑informed and defensible.
5. Project Support & Documentation
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to provide liaisoning inputs at each stage of the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all approvals, permits, correspondence, and regulatory submissions for audit and reference purposes.
  • Prepare status reports on pending approvals, regulatory milestones, and compliance activities for internal reporting and management review.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
  • 15 years of proven experience in liaisoning and regulatory affairs within the real estate industry, preferably with a developer or construction company.
  • In‑depth knowledge of real estate and construction laws, regulations, building codes, and government approval processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with government officials, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, with strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes, and familiarity with project management principles in the real estate sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Civil Engineering, Law, or Business Administration; a Master’s degree is a plus.
