Job summary

VyomIC is seeking a GNSS Authentication & Security Engineer in Bengaluru to design, analyze, simulate, and validate authentication and encryption mechanisms for LEO-PNT signals and navigation services, with a focus on spoofing resistance and secure data handling.

You will work at the intersection of GNSS security, cryptography, and receiver algorithms, develop MATLAB/Python simulations for authentication generation, verification, latency, and overhead, and help shape a secure, scalable PNT

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in cryptography, authentication, secure communications, and cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of MACs, digital signatures, hashing, encryption, key management, and broadcast authentication schemes.
• Good Python/C/C++ programming skills; MATLAB experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Study existing GNSS authentication and encryption techniques (OSNMA, TESLA-based schemes, digital signatures, MACs, encrypted spreading/signals).
• Define security requirements and threat model for VyomIC's LEO-PNT signals (spoofing, forgery, replay, unauthorized access).
• Evaluate and recommend suitable authentication architecture for the navigation message.
• Design integration of authentication data, keys, signatures/MACs, and metadata into the navigation message with minimal impact on data rate/TTFF.
• Develop MATLAB/Python simulations for authentication generation, transmission, verification, latency, overhead, and failure cases.
• Analyze security-performance trade-offs (message overhead, computational complexity, authentication latency, false acceptance/rejection, receiver resources).

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated GNSS Authentication & Security Engineer to join our team at VyomIC, where we are building the next-generation global LEO-PNT satellite constellation from India.

In this role, you will design, analyze, simulate, and validate authentication and encryption mechanisms for LEO-PNT signals and navigation services, with a focus on protecting PNT data against spoofing, unauthorized access, and signal manipulation. You will work at the intersection of GNSS security, cryptographic techniques, signal design, receiver algorithms, and system-level performance validation, contributing to the development of secure and resilient PNT services for VyomIC's constellation.

Key Responsibilities

• Study existing GNSS authentication and encryption techniques, including OSNMA, TESLA-based schemes, digital signatures, MACs, and encrypted spreading/signals.
• Define the security requirements and threat model for VyomIC's LEO-PNT signals, focusing on spoofing, navigation-message forgery, replay, and unauthorized access.
• Evaluate and recommend suitable authentication architecture for the LEO-PNT navigation message.
• Design how authentication data, keys, signatures/MACs, and associated metadata can be incorporated into the navigation message structure with minimal impact on data rate and TTFF.
• Develop MATLAB/Python simulations for authentication generation, transmission, verification, latency, overhead, and failure cases.
• Analyze security-performance trade-offs including message overhead, computational complexity, authentication latency, false acceptance/rejection, and receiver resource requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, ECE, EE, Communications, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
• Strong fundamentals in cryptography, authentication, secure communications, and cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of MACs, digital signatures, hashing, encryption, key management, and broadcast authentication schemes.
• Good Python/C/C++ programming skills; MATLAB experience is a plus.
• Understanding of GNSS/PNT systems and navigation signals is an advantage.
• Prior experience with GNSS signal authentication, secure navigation, or GNSS receiver systems is a strong plus.
