Job summary

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a qualified Counsel for Global Accounts. The role focuses on drafting, negotiating, and advising on technology contracts, licensing, data privacy and security, and intellectual property for a fast-paced IT systems integrator.

The successful candidate will counsel Sales and key stakeholders, manage outside counsel, and ensure regulatory compliance. The position is remote with periodic travel to the Mumbai office, reporting to the Associate General Counsel -

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in India.
• 2+ years PQE with transactional focus, including tech transactions.
• Counsel Sales and stakeholders on technology contracts, licensing, privacy, security and IP.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
• In-house experience preferred, corporate/commercial background.
• Attention to detail, clear communication, active listening.
• Experience with legal tech tools such as Salesforce-integrated CLMs and AI tools.
• Knowledge of India regulatory landscape for commercial/tech.
• Ability to manage outside counsel cost-effectively.
• Willingness to travel periodically.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex transactional contracts.
• Counsel Sales and other stakeholders on technology contracts, licensing, privacy, security, and IP.
• Support compliance with local and international laws applicable to contracts.
• Train employees on contracting policies and processes.
• Provide day-to-day contracting advice to senior leadership and business teams.

Counsel, Global Accounts

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in India
• 2+ years PQE, primarily with transactional legal experience including specific experience in technology transactions
• Should have substantive legal knowledge and the ability to counsel Sales and other key stakeholders in the following areas: technology contracts, licensing, data privacy and security, and intellectual property
• Should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Corporate/Commercial legal experience supporting a variety of functions and prior in-house experience preferred
• Must be attentive to details, a good communicator, and an active listener
• Experience using legal technology tools such as Salesforce-integrated CLMs and AI legal tools.
• Knowledge of emerging commercial/technology regulations in India.
• Able to work with, manage and ensure cost effective services from outside counsel
• Periodic travel required

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing, dynamic, friendly legal department of a fast-paced IT systems integrator, supporting outbound licensing and sales transactions for the company’s commercial customers. Our legal team keeps pace with a rapidly growing and evolving company, providing practical advice while achieving business results.

This position will be remote, with some travel to the Mumbai office required. The role reports directly to the Associate General Counsel - Global Accounts. The successful candidate will have extensive experience drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating complex transactional contracts and must be prepared to negotiate and drive strategic transactions and a significant volume of sales/revenue agreements. The candidate will also support compliance with local and international laws, rules, and regulations, as applicable and will create and train employees on company policies related to contracting. The candidate will work directly with the business, providing day-to-day advice for senior executives and other business members on contracting issues, resolving issues that arise in existing relationships, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. A successful candidate should be proactive, able to provide innovative solutions that balance legal and business concerns, enjoy working hard and being challenged, have strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrate sound and pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations, and have a healthy sense of humor.
